Let The Fire Inside Of You Come Out OR Go Sit Down & Be Normal!

Yes, like many before you, you want something big…

I faced these questions as I woke up from my self-inflicted stupor, my passivity, my reluctance to step up and do what it takes to create a life and a business that I adored.

I was trapped in a nice, safe life – OK, so it never really was that safe with all the debt that I was racking up as I refused to say ‘no’ to the people in my life that thought I was ‘well off’…

As I made stupid decisions about the ‘doodads’ that I bought…

But overall, I was ‘safe’ – I was a pharmacist and that came with a healthy pay-packet as long as I agreed to toe the party line of doing things that I did not completely believe in –

Dispensing medication that kept people ok but never ever really fixed anything (apart from antibiotics!)…

Dispensing advice and emergency contraception to 12 and 13 year olds who were doing things that they really should not be doing yet and… AND I could not even inform their parents… (How horrifying to think of these young people without a mentor or guide to help them navigate this area of life!)

Even dispensing emergency contraceptives to adult females when there are healthier ways to stay without child that do not involve filling your body with chemicals that could cause all manner of harm when used willy-nilly – How SAD!

But hey, I got paid, right?!

My family was mostly safe as long as I kept up those long hours (60-80 hours each week)…

As long as I kept paying the minimum payment on the ever-increasing debt…

And I could stomach that passive life, as long as I kept dreaming about the big business I would one day build when I was finally ready to do what it took…

So what, that I was lying in bed in the wee hours of the morning, awake and worried about whether I could even keep this charade of a ‘safe’ life going?!

It was the sensible thing to do, right?

It was the way everyone lived and so, of course, that made it right, right?!

How stupid I was, in those days…

Working my butt off building a life I did not want because I was too scared to actually just do the work I really wanted to do…

Because I thought it was the only way…

Because I thought it was the ‘safe’ thing to do…

And it took bankruptcy, depression and starting from scratch to allow me see that I was POWERFUL enough to do whatever I put my mind to do.

After all, it would take the same amount of energy to build a life I liked as it did to build a ‘safe’ life that I did not like…

The only difference is the emotional energy – the fears and the questions and I wonder what you answer to those questions?

Can I do this?

Do I have what it takes?

Am I even allowed to want this much?

Am I deluded and crazy and just plain old silly for thinking that what I want, is possible?

Because honey, the answer is ‘YES’

Yes, you can do this…

Yes, you do have what it takes

Yes, you are allowed to want this much and SO MUCH MORE!

Yes, you are deluded, crazy and plain old silly by the standards of the ‘norms’ around you but when last did you see a ‘norm’ do anything worth talking about so why the hell would you want to be the same as a norm?!

Own your ‘delusions’ – That is the only way you will shake the world with your product, service or opportunity – You have to think bigger than big and it will feel deluded!

Own your ‘crazy’ for the same, exact reason…

What you want is possible and I absolutely believe in you but I cannot own your dream more than you do!

And then when this final question comes

“At what point do I stop and accept that I am not up to the task?”
