“We do not see the world as it is, we see it as we are.”
Anais Nin

When was the last time you took a quiet moment and asked yourself, “What limiting beliefs am I still holding onto that may be sabotaging my happiness?” It is said that limiting beliefs are formed in childhood and if not conquered can stay with you, and hold you back in certain areas for life.

You can discover which areas these may be by looking into areas that you continuously have issues with. This could be in the area of relationships, career, etc, any issue that keeps coming up, and you are not happy with what keeps coming up, may be an area where some work on beliefs is needed.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t want anything that really means nothing to me in my present moment, holding me back from achieving the happiness and love that I deserve. So, if you feel the same way, what steps can you take to tackle the negative beliefs? How can you start to remove these internal roadblocks?

The first step is to realize holding on to negative beliefs is a BIG no, no and can do nothing to empower you towards a happy life. They are internal roadblocks that can stop one from getting what they want in life. The good news is there are ways you can become familiar with them, and learn how to reverse the beliefs that are not working in your favor.

So, what can you do? First become aware that you have limiting beliefs, then setout to discover what they are, and begin to formulate a plan to tackle and dispense of them once and for all.

When you discover a limiting belief, one of the most powerful things you can do is to not shut it out, but instead dive right into it. Really experience it, feel it, see it, don’t run from the feelings and emotions it is producing inside you. Instead go with it. If it makes you cry, then cry, if it makes you laugh a nervous laugh, then laugh.

What you don’t want to do it bury the emotion, run away from the feeling. If you do that, then you lose all power to deal with the belief, and then clear it from your existence once and for all.

So one of the most important things to do to begin getting rid of beliefs that don’t suit you, is to embrace them, so you can then let them go.

Next you will want to acknowledge what it is you do not want (What beliefs do not make you feel good, do not work in your favor, do nothing to bring you the love, success and happiness you deserve in your life) Become familiar with these beliefs, look at when they may have been formed.

Now once you know what beliefs you don’t want, begin creating new ones that you do want. Begin to filter out the old beliefs. What would make you feel great; what kind of relationship do you want? What type of success in your life would make you happy? Replace the old negative beliefs, with the new empowering beliefs that will serve your life the best.

Take an honest look at all of your old negative beliefs, and discover what was the reality of them, and what was not. Challenge the reality of beliefs you do not want, and change them. Empower yourself everyday with your new healthier beliefs.

At times during the day and night, if a limiting belief pops up, immediately replace it with your new positive belief. To help you change negative patterns and empower yourself to get over the bad belief, carry with you a list of joyful, positive affirmations.

Also carry with you all the reminders of why you are leaving the negative beliefs behind you, with one of the main reasons being that they did not serve your highest purpose, which is to be authentically happy.

Remember it is a great relief to know that life is not about finally getting it right, it is about the process and knowing that everything in life is constantly changing, and so it can be changed when it does not suit you. It is wonderful to know that you have the power within yourself to create a life of unlimited abundance and happiness.

It is yours for the asking. So ask!
