EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a powerful combination of acupressure and releasing wording, designed to give you fast results with any goal that you want to achieve. Probably the biggest question people ask with EFT is what to say when they tap. No matter what kind of EFT you have learned, this still is the heavy EFT challenge for many. And it is the same when it comes to weight.

Weight loss has an extra complication. You see, we need to eat at least about three times a day. And every day can present new challenges.

With EFT tapping, we can release all the effects of the past on our present. However, if the issue is ongoing, such as the need to lose more weight, then our present stresses also need to be released. This includes guilt and shame about weight as well. This is because guilt and shame make us stressed. And when we are stressed, two things are most likely to happen. Firstly, a person who turns to food for comfort would likely eat more. Secondly, a person whose body shuts down when stressed may get a messed up metabolism and be unable to lose weight when stressed. It is with this in mind that tapping on guilt and shame.

Of course, you can tap the usual things such as the following...

Setup: “Even though I have this guilt, I accept myself anyway”
Reminder: “This guilt”

Or you can simply tap on all the points, over and over again as you say your guilt and shame self-talk. I did this recently myself. Due to be weighed on video in a few days, I was stricken with guilt and shame about what my weight could be, about what I had eaten last week, fearing that I may have inadvertently eaten too much and gained weight rather than lost it, and getting really paranoid about the whole thing. You know what it is like when we get crazy thoughts that do a loop in our heads. Well, that was what I was saying out loud, all the crazy thoughts in my head, whilst tapping on all the points. In about 10 minutes, my negative feelings went from a level of about 6-7 out of 10 to a zero out of ten, or neutral point. Suddenly, I saw a clarity wash all over me, and my self-talk became more logical and calm. As a result, there was no need to raid the fridge to quell my guilt and shame feelings. They disappeared.
