Maintaining A Relationship With Daily Love
Written by Mike Sullivan
When the going gets tough in a relationship, people often wonder what happened to the old us? The happy couple in the beginning who couldn’t get enough of each other’s company, who made love like every time might be their last. What happened to that honeymoon stage that seemed at the time as though it could outlast the century?
The answer may be in the way you made one another feel. Remember when you did everything you could to make sure that she would like you, because you weren’t sure if she would.
You made sure that your time together was memorable so that she’d want to spend all day Sundays with you.
You listened, riveted by what she said, because you wanted to know everything about her life and the way she thinks.
You wanted to stand out from the crowd and be the one that she chose over all the other guys. You made her laugh.
You didn’t argue or criticize one another, still a little bit cautious and afraid to push her away. You had a good thing going.
Then, eventually, you got comfortable in each others space and stopped trying, or at least didn’t try nearly as much anymore. This comfort can be relieving but it can sometimes become hurtful if one party doesn’t believe the other cares.
One important thing to remember in a relationship is that you can’t blow your energy in the beginning and then just relax.
You have to nourish each other with love each and every day. Love is daily.
There is the initial honeymoon phase and then there is the maintenance phase and then there is the family phase. And with each succession it gets a little bit more difficult. But the benefit you reap are just that much more rewarding.
So if you are wondering where the love has gone, just bear in mind that it hasn’t gone anywhere. It has simply matured. Maybe you don’t get the butterflies anymore or the sex isn’t as frequent, but the vulnerability of really knowing one another and being able to rely on a steadfast love. That is really something to be ecstatic about.
Love is like wine. It gets more succulent with age.
You just have to hang in there and work through the hard bits because not much that comes easy is worth having.

Dr. Venus Nicolino: You Have To Make Yourself Available To Find Good Relationships
The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
