Make Your To-Do-List of All Your Goals

Your Dreams and Goals
To start with you need to realize what your dreams and goals are. A lot of people that I have a discussion with about dreams in life, do not have any other goals than accomplishing a secure lifestyle with a steady job and income. If this is what they truly wish for I do not know. Perhaps that is what will make them happy, though I feel that it is really important for people to allow themselves to dream and reach new things. When we dream we are filled with so much eagerness and enthusiasm that we get a strong passion to really live. It fills our life with meaning and sense. And when we complete some of our goals and dreams, we reach a point of great satisfaction and contentment. We need to grow to feel pleased and fulfilled.

Why Are We Afraid of Dreaming
The Feeling many people is terrified of, is having their dreams disappoint them and not to experience success. They think, that if we do not any big dreams and goals, then we will not be disappointed when we don’t reach the dreams. So before we even begin to plan our dream, we end the project so that we do not have to go through all the discouraging and embarrassing feelings of having failed. This will of course keep us from ever accomplishing anything big, because the first and most fundamental thing you need to achieving your goals, is to have a strong belief. You need to completely believe in your dreams and believe that they are possible to accomplish… even for you. But it takes guts to allow yourself to dream, as we have a tendency to take failure very personal. But when we fail we grow and we just have to keep going.

Make a Plan
When you feel that you are ready to start working on some of your goals you first have to make a list of all the many things you want. Your goals do not only have to be these big things such as earning a lot of money, getting your dream house, travel the world, etc. Include everything you feel would make you happy. So if you have a personal goal like to stop smoking, learn to sing, sew a piece of clothing, paint a picture, etc, write them all down on your list. Keep in mind that there are many ways to be happy. Each one of us has different wishes and one must listen to ones inner voice of what will bring them true satisfaction.

Now see the different goals on your list and take one or two to start working with. It is completely irrelevant if the goals you select are big or small, the important thing is that they are quite specific. So if you want to earn more money, write down exactly how much you want.

Next to the goals you have selected you will write down all the many actions you have to take to get there. So if your wish is to lose weight, what will you have to do. Well, you will definitely need to be active regularly and make a different diet plan. Then you may also need a method to stay motivated, and so you could join a group or get a fitness instructor to work with you. You know what works for you, so write down all the different things you can think of.

When figuring out what goals you have and the different steps you need to take to achieve them write a time-limit for every action-step. So if your action-step is to work out and go to the gym, write down when you have decided to start this and how often you must work out, even write down the specific days, you want to go. Giving yourself a deadline can help you to actually follow through and achieve your biggest dreams.
