If you ask any non Bangalorean working in IT sector in Bangalore where he lives, he would immediately say this name. If you working in Bellandur Ecospace and are looking at an affordable housing locality wherein there are thousands of other people like you, then this is the place. Marthahalli – the urbanized village of IT employees is situated between Bellandur and Brookfield and is the abode of thousands of people chasing their dreams in the Silicon Valley.

Marthahalli can now be termed as a south-eastern suburb of the Bangalore city, the capital of Karnataka. It is also located south of the Old Airport road and offers awesome connectivity to Silk Board, HAL, Brookfield, Whitefield and ITPL. What is more significant about Marthahalli is that the Outer Ring Road also passes through this place, making it even more easily accessible to important hubs such as the Airport, Hebbal, Tin Factory etc.

Having been a sleepy village in the outskirts of Bangalore until the late 90s, the locality came into prominence with the IT explosion in India’s Silicon Valley and many apartments in Marthahalli were built. The proximity and its unmatched connectivity to HAL Airport, Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Electronic City, in addition to the presence of the Outer Ring Road running arterially through this place has given it a self-sufficient status. One can find a huge number of cloth stores, shopping malls, food joints and other shopping spots in this area owing to its huge population.

Marthahalli also has its historic importance. It has inscriptions both in Tamil and Telugu establishing the fact that both these languages were used here much before Krishnadevaraya started ruling the Vijayanagara empire. Bangalore’s first ever Multiplex named the Innovative Multiplex is also located here. The spectacular Marthahalli bridge, which has 6 lanes connecting HAL and Kundalahalli on one side and Hebbal and Bellandur on the other side is a highlight and provides enough space for all the buses to ply through and stop here.

Due to many outstation residents living here, Marthahalli has a lot of eateries, catering to both Andhra and Tamil Nadu people. In addition to the small-time eateries, Marthahalli also houses popular brand names such as Bhagini, Mast Kalandar, Nizam’s Biriyani, Tabla Restaurant, Kritunga Restaurant, Holy Flames, Absolute Barbeque, Meghana Foods, Nandhana Palace and the Thalassery Restaurant. Also because of the same fact, Marthahalli has buses plying to all the next-door capital cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Mysore given that there are hundreds of people who use these services day in day out.

Maybe because of several bachelor people residing at this place, Marthahalli doesn’t have too many schools located in the area. However, one can find good schools further down. Names such as VIBGYOR High School, Ravindra Bharathi Global School, HAL Gnanajyothi School, Kids Global School, Vagdevi Vilas Institutions and Nava Prajna Public School are well known and attract a lot of students each year.

So why wait? Book an apartment in the most happening localities of Bangalore today.
