Prayer is a very powerful tool to utilize in your daily life. It has been suggested from various scientific study that prayer can positively influence not only the mental state of the person who is praying, but also physical symptoms and problems. There are many articles available with valuable evidence proving that prayer has worked and is working in the lives of many.

Here are some helpful tips to help you in your prayer life and so you may begin exploring the significance of spirituality in your life:

1. Choose a specific place to pray, away from distractions and noise.
2. Try to pray at the same time every day.
3. Make prayer a part of a daily routine so that it eventually becomes second nature.

4. Pray out loud. This prevents us from drifting off into dreamland.

5. Keep a journal or notebook handy so that you can quickly jot down thoughts that come to mind when you are praying to your Higher Power.

6. Keep a list of prayer needs, but make sure that your list does not resemble a list to Santa Clause. It should have categories such as "Friends" and "Family" rather than things you want.

7. Pray when you have free time in your schedule. Talking to your Higher Power while you're on a walk is a great way to open the pathway to forming a closer relationship and making prayer habitual.

8. Change the pace during your prayer time by including Thanksgiving, Praise, Meditation, etc.

9. Keep a prayer journal: First, keep track of what you ask of God, and when you called on your Higher Power to handle a situation. Leave a space, and when the answer comes, jot down the answer. This will help you to keep alert to God's answer so that you can learn to thank Him promptly and be more aware of your Higher Power. The second variation is to write the entire prayer down in your journal. Just entitle it "Dear Higher Power" rather tha
"Dear Diary".

10. Pray with someone else. Meeting regularly for prayer can be a very powerful experience.

11. Pray short, sincere prayers rather than laboring over a topic.
