Written by Sanjog Kumar
India is a land that has rich culture and age-old tradition. No matter how advance the world is getting day by day, many regions in India still linger in the charm of bygone era. It is the only land that has the secrets of origination of Ayurveda and yoga. These age-old science of body and life find its existence in India since a long back. India is a land where meditation is considered as a form of offering prayers to the deity. Different legends say that meditation was the only way through which the sages use to please deities. In India, it is still practiced in the original form. The popular cities that house meditation centres in India include:
Haridwar
This holy city of Uttarakhand is a prime place for the Hindu devotees. Tourists visit Haridwar to wash off their sins and start afresh. Another reason that drags tourists to this wonderful place is meditation. Religious aura and salubrious weather of the region make it a perfect place to learn yoga and especially meditation here. Travellers practise meditation to improve their inner self and give a positive approach to life.
Rishikesh
Quite close to the sacred land Haridwar, Rishikesh is another prime centre for learning meditation in India. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, this is another beautiful place to practise this wonderful science of yoga. Meditation centres here offer different courses related to yoga and meditation. Depending upon the interest and availability of time, tourists can take admission in these courses and learn meditation.
Nashik
Another popular place for learning meditation in India is Nashik. Noted for different reasons, Nashik also finds its existence in great Hindu legend, the 'Ramayana'. The base reason remains the same here also. Peaceful ambience and connection with the deities are the two factors that make it a perfect region to practice meditation. Nashik is one of the four most popular places where tourists can find many learning centres.
Varanasi
Dipped in the old ambience, Varanasi is almost of same age of this science. Presence of many sages and yoga practitioners are the evidences that speak volume about the existence of yoga and meditation here. They are the proof that in Varanasi, meditation is practiced since a long back. This holy land has a connection with the deities and the devotees. They offer their prayers through different modes of devotion. Some follow the tradition whereas others follow the path of meditation. Both the methods need strong belief, resulting into a positive thinking, which ultimately lead you to an improved inner self.
