If you are planning to visit Melbourne between the months of September and October, then you are bound to find something of interest by the time you get there. Considering how Melbourne is one of the busiest cities in Australia, it’s highly probable that you will find something you like at any time of the year. September through to October you can experience everything to do with spring, including some time spent in the great outdoors where you can explore the waterfront promenade with a seaside view and you can walk and talk for hours. You can venture inland and go on a wine route or explore the Yarra valley and Dandenong range. Experience an alpine town or take a long drive through the Australian countryside.

For those of you that are looking for events and festivities then you will be happy to know that Melbourne is never in short supply. They love to celebrate things in Melbourne and they always do so with style and confidence. They run film festivals, writers and poetry festivals, big events at the theme park just outside of Melbourne and they even have something for the kids where they can play, have fun and learn all at the same time.
You can try your hand at dancing everything from ballroom to hip-hop during the month of October, treat your kids to a puppet show at Federation Square during the school holidays and the whole family can join in for the Moon Lantern festival throughout the whole of September, where you can enjoy a spectacular display of Lanterns and Chinese dragons.

Take a walk through Docklands to do some shopping, grab a bite to eat and maybe take a boat ride from of the Marina and head out to sea. If you prefer to stay inland, then at least you still have the mountains and wine lands to go and explore. You can sample some of the best Australian wines that usually get saved for export, and you might even want to take a few bottles home with you.

Sports fans can enjoy a host international and local sporting events that happen throughout the year. The Australians are big on cricket and rugby, and they have even got their own version called Australian rule football, which is basically rougher version of rugby.
