WHAT IS MINERAL POWDER?

Well the story of mineral powder is nothing but a clever marketing strategy. One can hardly doubt of its mineral contents. This powder is bismuth oxychloride, which is a fine mixture of bismuth and chloride. Though it is safe to use it as cosmetics, but is not at all advised for the sensitive skin.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It works just as any other pressed powder. As it is heavier than any talcum powder, it settles well for a long time in the skin, giving the make-up a perfect finish look. It creates the matte effect and is best for touch up too. You can dip your puff (for powder coming in container) and apply in your face and neck. It gives the even tone and smoothens up the skin.

SKIN TYPE -

Translucent powder or the face powder is generally effective for normal to oily skin type. It absorbs the excess oil of the skin. But if one is having the dry skin, the application of the loose powder or any pressed mineral powder dries up the skin more and the over application of which may lead to dryness or patches in the skin.

APPLICATION –

As it is mainly use as a makeup finish, the effect is best when is applied after a coat of foundation. Sometime the coat of foundation makes the skin look very oily; the compact or pressed mineral powder is highly effective in such cases. A second coat can be applied if found necessary.

Many a time, for a regular make up, after a fine blend of moisturizer over the skin, pressed mineral powder can be used. It gives a natural effect, yet makes the skin tone even and smooth. The application also protects the skin from the harmful UV rays (but make sure that it contains SPF). It helps in hiding light dark circles, spots and skin pores.

MAKE-UP TIPS –

If you are wondering how to look beautiful that too within a few seconds, there are few makeup tips –
• Wash the face properly with any exfoliating face cleansers and pat it dry

  • Moisturize skin by a blending a proper moisturizer evenly (choose it depending on your skin type) and leave your face for 5-10 minutes.
  • If you have any deep pores or scar marks, use concealer to hide the zones.
  • Apply a thin coat of foundation (make sure, it goes well with your complexion).
  • Reapply the coat if needed.
  • Apply the pressed powder, leave for 1-2 minute and recoat.
  • Define your lip with a fine lip liner (use a darker tone than the filler), fill it with the color of your choice, and use the lip-gloss (for a glossy effect).
  • The use of pressed powder after the application of lip-color, and the reapplication of the color helps in retaining the color for a long time.
  • Finally wrap up with application of eyeliner and eye-shadow.

So, now you know the how to beautify yourself, experience it (even by buying any sample kit) and garner the mass attention.
