Some of the important skills you need to possess as a network marketer include presentation skills, speaking skills and a good emotional quotient. Most MLM companies provide their distributors with training but do feel free to attend other courses apart from those provided by your company as well. I encourage you to strive to fulfill your potential as a successful network marketer.

MLM How-To Tip 2: Talk About The Benefits, Not The Features

This next point applies when you are talking to your leads. One mistake that many distributors tend to make is they focus too much on product features. That is a bad approach, especially when you are marketing to people who probably do not care about the product.

Instead, you should focus on the benefits and how the products can benefit your target audience. The common impression that many leads will have in their mind is, "I am not interested in your product, but since you are promoting it to me, tell me what's in it for me".

Here's an approach you can take. You can identify a problem that your target audience may be facing. It could be symptoms of illnesses, obesity or aging. Once that is done, this is where you need to get the point across to them that the product which you are promoting is able to solve that problem for them. How you pitch yourself is another important point, and I will be talking more about this next.

This last point is also an important point, especially if you want to get sales. You need to build a rapport with your prospects. This is where you brand yourself as an expert and you ensure that you gain their trust. Think of it this way. Would you buy something from a brand or salesman you cannot trust? Or would you buy from someone who has absolutely no clue about what he is promoting? However, would you be more open to hear from someone who knows his stuff and is able to answer even the most difficult questions posed at him? Be sure to study the industry that the product is in so that you are ready and well-equipped to answer people's questions.
