I am not a beauty expert, but I am a woman who wants to get the most bang for her buck with her anti-aging, cleansing and conditioning regimen! I recently wrote about conditioning my skin by eating and applying extra virgin olive oil to the skin. I have been out of the oil for 3 days and have noticed a difference; in fact, my husband is out picking me up a bottle right now. One Intent member mentioned that it was too oily for her skin. Another option is almond oil, which I have also used on my dry hair as a deep conditioner. It is amazing and instantly corrects my absolutely “natural” blond highlights…..NOT! My stepdaughter Heather Simon is my hair designer. (If you’re ever in Portland, or you have friends here, Heather works at the chic Tribe Salon and is truly one of the hottest stylists in Portland.) She knows what it takes to keep my natural blond highlights and she told me to keep doing whatever I am doing! Just last night, I read in my daughter’s OK! Magazine that Chef Padma Lakshmi, of Top Chef, unclogs her pores by slathering natural honey on her face. She is gorgeous with incredible skin….I’m in! I also have two instant facelifts and a cellulite solution to share with you, two of which were in Ok! recommended by beauty experts: First, while you are making your egg white omelets, reserve the yolks and beat them. Then spread them onto your face, allow the egg to dry, and wash off! It is a miracle mask, I have been using it since high school. Second, make a batch of oatmeal and do the same thing. Third, my daughter Brenna loves Nutella on her crepes so we always have a jar in the pantry. My husband drinks coffee every morning and there is often half a pot left. This next recipe I am about to share is perfect if you have issues with cellulite. Cellulite, be gone! Mix Nutella and coffee to form a paste. Apply to your thighs and cover with saran wrap and leave up to 3 hours. Are you laughing yet? I am absolutely not kidding. Just don’t answer the door, stay away from the family pets, make sure the kids are in school, and have your partner swear not to check up on you! (He/she might get the wrong idea. Think Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie when Teri Garr walks in on him wearing women’s undergarments.)
