Human beings are not flawless, they all commit mistakes and it is natural. So a sensible student should take full advantage of the time and learn as much as possible. When we enter in college, we have that typical high school writing experiences and information but with the passage of time we get to know that writing styles and requirements have totally changed now.
There are some prominent mistakes students commonly commit like when you write a paper related to history, literature, current events and many other fields, students use long quotes to describe a certain scenario but this practice is not encouraged in student’s writing except for the case where student fails to understand a concept. But it is not good for your grades because instructor wants your own thoughts and expressions not someone else’s.
It is always a bad idea not to check your work before submission. Using incorrect verb tenses is always bothering to read and speculates poor writing skills of the student. Grammatical errors can get confused your reader as to what facts were already known and what facts have newly discovered in the actual study that you have done. You should always use past tense to describe events that have already happened. You should be the master of the language in which you are going to write your paper. Your writing must possess traditional and appropriate pattern and phrases that a non-native speaker can be able to grab the meanings behind your words. Don’t be too difficult or complex in your approach and in your language as well that reader would face difficulties to capture the essence of your study.
Spelling mistakes, incomplete ideas and grammatical errors can cost you big times. Draw your complete attentions while writing your paper and begin to write on it at an early stage so you do have time to proofread it at the end. Never forget to check the spelling of scientific names, terms, individual names, names of compound, etc. Grammatical errors and any typo errors can be mortifying at any stage of writing as many different terminologies have similar names and spellings, any minor spelling mistake can result in a completely incorrect statement that might not even make any sense to the reader. Before you print your paper, make sure you don’t split up the table’s more than one page. Do not submit your paper without checking the page sequence. Always remember that someone will have to read this thing, in case you submit your paper without acute evaluation of final draft, if the reader is a reviewer or editor you might get away a rejection notice.
