Golf vacations are a great way for an amateur golfer to spend time improving their game as well as relaxing in great, natural and peaceful surroundings. In this day and age, an avid golfer can bring their family along with them as golf vacation packages typically offer a lot of other amenities to keep the non-golfers happy.rnThis article will list some of the most popular destinations for golf vacations as well as the reasons that they attract thousands of sporting tourists every year. Pebble Beach is one of the most famous golf courses in the world and it is situated in Monterey, sunny California. In fact, Pebble Beach has been called "the greatest meeting of land and sea in the world" and it is a very beautiful and serene place to spend a weekend on the links. With Californian palms and perfectly preened grasses as far as the eye can see, it is an ideal place to spend a relaxing vacation, golfer or not. PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach, Florida is the national headquarters of the PGA also happens to be a top-of-the-line resort containing five 18-hole courses stretched over 2,300 acres. Pebble Beach is in fact not a town at all but rather an unincorporated community with most of the business all being owned by the Pebble Beach Company, providing everything a golfer and his family could need for a vacation. The few famous residents have houses hidden behind old-growth trees and a generally secluded and tranquil atmosphere is maintained. A truly lovely destination. Pine Valley in Clementon, NJ is a course without an ocean views but nonetheless a beautiful location. It is truly unique with a great character and interesting landmarks and design at every hole. Most golfers who golf at Pine Valley remember every hole. Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, Long Island NY is America's premier links golf course. It has hosted the U.S open four times in three different centuries and provides a very professional and well managed experience. The Carolina Hotel Golf Courses in 1 Carolina Vista, Pinehurst, North Carolina has a golf resort which stands apart from its other Southern counterparts is that it has seven signature courses. The original architect was the legend of golf landscaping Donald Ross. Some of the most pre-eminent names in golf history have played these courses including Nelson, Jones, and Hogan. All in all it includes 126 holes with some of the more modern ones being designed by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. Pinehurst No. 2 (so called because Pinehurst number 1 was drastically refurbished at some point in the last century) in Pinehurst, North Carolina is famous for having hosted the 1999 US Open. It is surrounded in tall, pines that provide privacy and seclusion and it is known for having some of the best designed greens for play in the world. Each of these golf courses is like a separate adventure for a golfer and their world-renowned greens are well worth taking a week or two out of work to explore. Each provides excellent facilities for those taking golf vacation with or without a family or some friends and should equal an excellent holiday for all.
