Ms Pacman

Ms PacMan is a game that was developed to be something of a clone to the more popular PacMan game. Let's go back in time and talk a little bit more about how PacMan was developed so that we can have a much better understanding of where Ms PacMan fits into all of this.

For most people, PacMan is a game that became incredibly well known to them as a result of playing with an Atari 2600 game system. First released in the early 1980s, this particular gaming system enabled players to immerse themselves in an interactive environment where they could essentially do battle against monsters, space aliens, and also play some interactive sports. Needless to say, by today's standards of these games were shockingly primitive.

One game in particular stood out and really helped make the Atari 2600 incredibly popular. That game was called PacMan. The basic premise of the game was that you would move around a maze like game board and devour little palettes while at the same time attempting to avoid goblins which were attempting to grab you.

Given the popularity of PacMan, it wasn't long before game designers thought it might be a great idea to come out with Ms PacMan. This particular version of the game was somewhat more feminized and had a little bit more flair. It became incredibly popular as well and to this day remains one of the most popular games ever created.

What a lot of people don't realize is that the basic technology that was utilized to create Ms PacMan in the 1980s remains largely the same technology that is used today when modern versions of the game are made. This is largely due to the relative simplicity of the game itself. Just like PacMan, the player moves around a maze like game environment eating pellets while at the same time attempting to avoid goblins. There is certainly a little bit more to it than that, but in a very general sense, that's how the game works.

You may be surprised to discover that you can actually play Ms PacMan over the Internet. In many ways, this has opened up a lot of memories for people who grew up playing these types of games.
