You could run out or get up in sleep when you observe that your calf and foot muscles suddenly become hard, tight and painful. If it happens with you than in should you can describe or call it as muscle spasm. Generally muscle spasm are caused by contraction of one or more muscles. Muscles prone to muscle spasm are foot muscles, calf muscles, front and back of the thigh muscles, rib cage muscles, hand muscles and abdomen muscles. Almost every body has experienced the pain of muscle spasm. It is very common and and can be cured by streaching the muscles.

This problem commonly occurred when a muscles is injured or over used. The main causes for this is when you are working out and you don’t you don’t get dehydrated. It can be found mainly in peoples who are lack of calcium, minerals and potassium. It can also be brought in the following conditions Hypothyroidism, Medications, Pregnancy, Alcoholism, Kidney failure and Metabolic problems. Poor blood circulation in the legs can also leads to this problem.
The problem of muscle spasm can also occur due to the use of side effects of drugs. These medicines are Lasix, diuretics, Aricept (donepezil), Procardia, Brethine, Tasmar , Microzide, Prostigmine, Evista, Pravachol and Statin medications
You should immediately the doctor or health care professional or medical professional if you are having severe pain in the muscles, pain last for long, if the pain-comes back again and if the pain do not go from normal stretching.

We are so busy in our life that we are not taking proper food that contains proper amount of minerals, calcium and potassium. There are various medicine available in the medical store for the treatment of muscle spasm. Robaxin is a prescription medicine used for this treatment only.
As it is a prescription medicine so it should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. You should get full information about the medicine beforte switching to this medication. You should not use Robaxin if you are allergic to it or to its ingredients. If you are pregnant or breast feeding mother you should not use this medicine. Avoid drinking alcoholic drink if you are taking the treatment with this medicine.
This medicine do have some common to serious side effects. You should use this medicine very carefully and according to the prescription. Take this medicine with a full glass if water with food. If you are taking any other medicine that is any prescription, non prescription and herbal medicine you should tell your doctor about that before taking Robaxin. Keep this medicine away from children and pet. Store this medicine at room temperature away from heat, light and moisture. If the tablets are not in use discard them properly.
