Of course your wedding is one of those days that you would like to remember for the rest of your life. Music and dancing has been an integral part of weddings for a long time now. From the classic three piece orchestra to the modern day DJ, music at weddings has come a long way. If you are looking for a wedding DJ or to have a wedding disco particularly in Preston, Lancashire, it can be a daunting task. Here is how you can go about it.

The first is to pick on a few recommended names of DJ or organizers who are part of the Wedding DJ Alliance. This is an assurance of the quality of these DJs and the services they will provide you. You will have to first ascertain whether they are available on the dates that you are looking for. Call up a few of them and let them know on the outset your venue and your dates. If they are unavailable, no point in prolonging the conversation.

If they are available make it a point to ask them how long they have been a DJ and how many events they have worked at. Getting a reference or two would help in helping you understand how they work. Ask them on the ways in which they plan events and execute them. This way you are sure that no detail will be left unattended and you will be able to enjoy yourself on your big day.

Since it is your party, you have every right to ask them about the kind of music they plan to play at your party. Ask them if they will entertain requests. You will want a DJ who is flexible enough to include requests from your guests without compromising on the kind of music you would like to have at your wedding. Do ensure that they are willing to follow the dress code of the party. Do let them clear their choice of clothing with you prior to the party.

Technical aspects will also have to be looked into and you need to check on whether they will bring their own equipment or you are expected to provide them with it. If they are bringing their equipment then you will have to look into what kind it is since you will be paying good many for it.

As with any public venue your DJ will have to carry valid insurance. Though accidents are very rare, it is always best to be prepared.
