Two common natural alte
atives that people use as an anxiety and panic attacks cure are essential oils and herbal remedies. People may choose natural alte
atives since there can be risks involved in taking anti-anxiety medication. Anxiety medication can be addictive, especially through long term use and have possible side effects. Herbal remedies and aromatherapy carry none of these risks which make them more attractive. Here we take a brief look at these two alte
atives to treat anxiety.

Natural remedies; Perhaps one the most commonly used herbal remedy is St John's wort. This herb is prescribed by doctors in European countries to remedy anxiety disorders including GAD and social anxiety. The active ingredient it contains is Hypericin, which helps alleviate depression and anxiety. The use of St John's wort in Germany has been extensive as an anxiety and panic attacks cure.

In numerous tests around the world St John's wort has displayed positive results. Surprisingly, this remedial herb can be bought at most pharmacies easily over the counter as a tablet. If you are taking other medication, ensure that you check with your doctor first before taking St John's wort. Some herbal remedies may have adverse drug interactions.
Physiology

When feelings of anxiousness and stress become constant, the stress response can trigger unnecessarily causing a panic attack. This is why relaxation is perhaps one of the most effective ways to deal with anxiety. Standardized Valerian extract is a safe and non addictive sedative which has been used for centuries and again is widely used. It is available at most pharmaceuticals and is a common natural remedy to aid sleep but it also helpful at easing nerves and calming the mind.

Catnip, Motherwort, Passionflower; these are just some of the other herbal remedies that can have a relaxing effect on nervous system. These natural remedies are usually available as tablets, teas and tinctures. For dosage instructions of your herbal panic attack remedy, check the label. Even though herbal alte
atives are considered safer, you should avoid the temptation of taking more in attempt to gain a stronger effect.

Plant and fruit essential oils used in aromatherapy can also be used to boost physical and mental health. The practice of blending essential oils dates back hundreds of years. Through inhalation essential oils can be absorbed into the bloodstream stimulating the production of relaxing hormones such as endorphin and serotonin. Endorphins are the body's natural tranquilizer and natural high which are produced in times of enjoyment.

Exhaustion affects our mood negatively as well as physical functions, such as motor skills and concentration. Many people enjoy the instant relaxing effect of aromatherapy. Relaxation can help reduce the production of stress hormones that are harmful to the body. A relaxed mind and body sleeps and functions better. Proper sleep helps rejuvenate bodily functions and gives us more energy to tackle what the day throws at us.

Lavender, Rose and Chamomile all have soothing and relaxing qualities. Essential oils can be used in several ways, such as vaporization and massage. Why not take it in turns with your partner to give each other massage? Effective at reducing stress and anxiety, aromatherapy works as a natural panic attacks cure without any negative side effects. Although not as effective you will find that burning incense sticks and scented candles can also be relaxing.
