Nomadic Entrepreneurs
Written by Andrew and Trish Riedel
Have you ever wondered why places such as California in the United States and Queensland in Australia are breeding grounds for brand new business ideas and hot beds of industrial passion?
I’ve been pondering this phenomenon over the years and I think I have finally hit upon the answer.
If you want to find individuals who have the drive to succeed, a passion for excellence and have a risk takers mentality; then look for places in the world where people go to start a new life, get away from a stifling environment, or who are just looking for greener pastures.
People who are prepared to move to another state or another country seem to be more likely to have a business mindset. People who have taken a giant leap of faith and accepted a job offer in a foreign land are modern day explorers and trail blazers.
In Australia, people from Victoria and New South Wales, who want a change of pace and a chance to make it big, often think that a move north to Queensland will be the fresh start they are looking for. In the United States, people with a vision for a better life, move to California or maybe Florida. In Europe, they think of Spain.
When people immigrate to another country or move to another county or state, they go seeking their fortune and the opportunity to create a better life for themselves and their families. They have a passion to succeed that their new neighbours admire and secretly wish that too could have the same spirit of adventure.
There really are no secrets here. If someone has taken a leap of faith and moved their family, their job and their life to another state, county or country, they may have the get up and go to take risks in other areas of their lives also.
These people are willing and able to create something out of nothing in a business sense as well. They come up with great ideas for new businesses and then get those businesses off the ground. They have a nose for a great opportunity and, when they get involved with something, they give it everything they have.
So, if you are looking for a business partner or an employee, look for someone from out of town! These people are often made of the right stuff and can be a valuable addition to your organisation
