Now get âdesiâ lunch boxes delivered at your door step!

Today’s world is extremely fast paced, is it not? There is almost no time to do anything. No, that is incorrect. People are doing a lot of things in little time, which is the way things are today. I think what has suffered the most in this fast paced environment is one’s nutrition. With busy schedules and little time, more and more people are spending less time actually cooking meals, eating out of ready-to-eat boxes and packets which are not the healthiest items to consume. So how does one maintain that balanced diet on a daily basis with such hectic schedules? The answer is tiffin services.
In Mumbai, this is an extremely popular trend. A lot of working and busy professionals opt for these lunchboxes to be delivered either to their homes or their work place. It is a common sight to see men carrying trolleys of tiffin’s at the stations, waiting to transport them to their respective owners.
The ‘dabba’ service, as it is popularly called, is extremely useful and efficient. All you have to do is pre-order your tiffin for however long and your food will be delivered. You would think that this is priced expensively but actually it is extremely affordable. In fact, for young professionals who have just started out in their careers and for students (especially those staying in paying accommodations), the ‘dabbas’ are a great choice. Not only do you save money by not eating outside everyday but you also get home-made like food which is much more nutritious and healthy as compared to the junk that people consume today.
The thing with these lunchboxes is that they serve only Indian vegetarian food, which is also why they are so affordable. So if you feel like eating some meat, you will have to resort to other options. That is not such a bad idea. We are anyway always looking for variety and with these ‘dabbas’, if you save during the week, you can comfortably afford to splurge a bit on the weekend.
The good thing about these ‘dabbas’ is that they offer a variety of cuisines- some days you will eat North Indian food, some days south Indian and so on. This is bound to make food interesting for those who like eating different things every day. In fact, you could also personalise the food to your taste. For instance, if you like spicy food, you could ask for extra spice in your food. If you are salt conscious, you could ask for limited to no salt in your food. Also, if any day you are sure you are not going to be eating at home, you can choose not to call for the dabba that day.
These tiffin services are extremely easy to find. Each area will have a designated dabba service. Come to think of it, the fact that these dabbas serve only Indian vegetarian food is not that bad. It is surely healthy and it is extremely tasty, which is also why people do not mind eating it. If you are too busy to cook your own meals, try ordering the dabbas- definitely worth the effort!
