Nurse Salaries - How Much Do Nurses Get Paid?
There are various factors that determine the registered nurse salary. For instance the number of years of experience, specialized training, and level of education. Also influencing salary is the area of the country and the facility that you work.
The number one influencing factor of income level is experience. The number of years of experience a person has will be reflected in their earnings. After graduating from school it is essential to get as much experience as swiftly as possible. It is a good idea to think about working in various areas of the nursing field to gather experience in different care settings. The number of years a person has been practicing will also dictate earnings. A nurse who has less than one year experience may only be paid twenty one dollars an hour while an RN who has ten years experience will receive twenty eight dollars an hour.
How well an individual performs their job and work ethics will also influence earnings. An individual who performs their work well is rewarded by an increase in pay. Additionally, a good reputation will follow the professional from job to job.
The educational level of the registered nurse will also influence the earning ability. Attending a particular school that carries a favorable reputation for high standards in education will also benefit any graduate. Also, the type of degree the RN holds dictates salary. An associate level RN will earn the least while there is an increase for the bachelor degree RN and and even higher salary for a masters level RN.
The number of job openings and the particular area of nursing a person works in will also influence the level of pay that they will receive. As the demand for registered nurses continues to go up, so does the salary potential. The need for geriatric nurses for instance, will be increasing as that section of our population continues to grow. The demand for specially trained RNs will continue to rise due to the fact that we are living longer.
The average full time salary for a registered nurse in the United States is currently above sixty thousand dollars annually. It is projected that the demand for registered nurses will continue to increase in every area of the health care field.
Another influence on the increase in salaries is that the number of students graduating from nursing schools is not in line with the number of RNs that are retiring. This trend is bringing about the raises in income levels for nurses in an attempt to draw people in to the field of nursing.
Many hospital are now offering bonuses as incentives for registered nurses to go to work for them. Some of the bonuses have been reported to be more than twenty thousand dollars. Considering the factors that affect the salaries for RNs, earning a degree in nursing is worth seriously considering. The profession will not only offer substantial earning potential, but satisfaction on can gained from caring for others.
