A nurse takes care of individuals, assists physicians, administers medications, maintains reports, as well as many other responsibilities. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) To become a CNA you need to spend about 75 hours in vocational studies. Your job outline will be performing a limited range of procedures, basic duties, and supporting the RN.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) requires one year of vocational education. An LPN’s job role includes the roles and responsibilities of a CNA plus administration of injections & IV drips, prepping the patient for surgical procedures, performing therapeutic massages, and maintaining and handling patient records.

Registered Nurse (RN) Becoming licensed as an RN requires you to have an Associate of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The job entails supervising the CNA and LPN, plus making nursing diagnoses.

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) incorporates nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and nurse anesthetists. They are required to have postgraduate education in their specialized aspect of RN licensure and nursing.

Most of these nurses have to periodically renew their licenses and maintain continuing education (CE).
