“I don’t have anything to say.”

That was what my latest client told me when we started discussing creating a Nurture marketing campaign for her business. Nurture Marketing is simply a systematic and regular communication with your customer, prospects and ideal clients using greeting cards, emails and gifts.

She understood the importance of keeping in touch with both her customers and prospects. Regular communication means people remember the business; your products and/or services exist; and that will increase your sales. The stumbling block for her was she didn’t think she had anything worth communicating about.

What you communicate largely depends on whom you are communicating to (past customer, current customer, prospect, ideal client) and how you are communicating (via email, postcard, letter, greeting card, Social Media network).

The good news is what you can communicate can be narrowed down to a couple of groups:

Industry news – the trends and news in your industry
Information – how they can be more informed consumers
Deals/Coupons/Discount – everyone likes a bargain and they want to know about it before everyone else
Thank you/Referrals – Who doesn’t enjoy being acknowledged and having their business name, business location and website advertised for free?

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Once you start thinking about what you can say, the possibilities are endless.
