One Question That Will End Heartbreak and Make You Feel Better
Written by Clay Andrews
If you got dumped and you find that you don’t know how to move on, here is a little something that might help you.
Remember, that you were once happy before you met your ex and you sure as heck can be happy after them.
During times of loss, like when you get dumped, it is easy to look at the world outside of ourselves and forget about the world inside ourselves.
We just get hung up on externals and we lose touch of our own internal states.
Think about it though. You probably feel like your life is out of control right now, don’t you?
Does it seem like there’s nothing solid for you to cling to?
This is happening because you have lost balance with your own sense of self inside and you’re looking for someone outside of you to validate you.
Don’t feel bad about this though. It’s completely normal and tons of people do it.
What you should be doing instead is to change your focus form your ex, your relationship, or anything else outside of you, to your own heart.
After all, you can’t control someone else, but you sure can control yourself.
What do you enjoy doing?
Ask yourself on a daily basis (or more frequently, if you need to), “What can I do that will make me feel good today?”
This may not work right away, but with continued practice, you will start to think up answers.
Follow through on these answers, whether they be picking up a new hobby, spending time with your friends, or making new friends. Do things that you love to do and you will find that your self-confidence and happiness start to trickle back into your life.
How does this work?
Well, the simple act of asking yourself questions will focus your mind on finding the answers.
The problem is that when most people go through a break up, they ask themselves questions like “why did this happen to me?” or “why do I feel so horrible?”
These kinds of questions will not result in answers that will make you feel better.
Do you see how this works?
By asking yourself questions that force your mind to find positive answers that make you feel better, you can begin to reground yourself in your own sense of happiness and well being. This will pull you out of the feelings of sadness and despair that often come after a break up.

Dr. Venus Nicolino: You Have To Make Yourself Available To Find Good Relationships
The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
