Online Dating Advice - Stay Mentally Healthy

Self confidence. Oh what a fickle thing self-confidence can be for most of us out there. One day we might be flying on cloud nine when it comes to talking to the opposite sex, feeling as if we could conquer the entire world with a mere smile, and the next day we find ourselves staring in the mirror, feeling down on ourselves, and wishing we could just be better people.

The constant fluctuation of emotions can often be overwhelming to a lot of us out there. I know that I suffered from this problem greatly at one point in my life. It seemed like I would go on hot streaks where my confidence was riding high, and then I would just come crashing down to earth like a spinning meteor out of control.

But perhaps where this hurt me the most was in my dating life. As someone who spent a lot of time online dating, and frequently going on dates that didn't work out to well, the ups and downs would be common to say the least.

So what can we do to avoid some of these extreme fluctuations in our mental state? The following suggestions are tips you can follow to help keep you in control:

1. Learn the art of dating. This may seem obvious but becoming a better dater will lead to more second dates. More second dates, as well as third and fourth dates will lead to higher confidence. Confidence tends to snowball when we are doing things right. Dating is not easy and some of us out there aren't intentionally being boring or uninspired dates, we just need to learn a few tricks and dating tactics to get us on the right path!

2. Don't check the sent box. A lot of dating sites will let you take a peak at who has opened your emails. This used to absolutely destroy my confidence in the past. I would see message after message opened and feel like there was something wrong with me due to a lack of response. This would not only crush my self esteem, but would take away from my confidence on the emails that were being responded to. So do yourself a favor, just focus on what is working!

3. Focus on the positives. As stated before, try to get out of that negative mindset. Believe me, as someone who was once a glass is half empty guy, I always focused on the negative. But life is just too short for this. Try to stay positive at all times and positive things will happen.
