No one just has one website anymore. I remember back in the 90's when one website was all anyone could afford and it was an all inclusive, one-stop-shop for the entire business no matter how big that business was. Since then however, the invention of blogging, membership sites, social profiles, video channels, auction sites and articles sites have dictated that we have dozens of locations where our products and services can be found. With all of those places to manage, you want to try and keep your branding the same throughout.

The permanent header is the solution to branding on multiple websites. On just about all of the above examples, you can dress up a site with a custom header and you can use the same one over and over again to build your name recognition. WordPress blogs have the ability to include a custom header in their templates, YouTube channels can upload a header image as a background graphic and even Twitter can show a custom logo in their background image as well. The Facebook fan page lets you upload a logo. You can include a logo in the checkout section of your online shopping cart, upload one to your eBay profile and even create banners as affiliate marketing tools.

Branding on the internet is very important to your overall success online. There are so many competitive websites that you have to stay on top of making a name for yourself and using the same headers and logos help keep the name of your business fresh in your customers minds. If you have yet to make a logo for yourself, put an ad in Craigslist for a high school kid to photoshop a header and logo for you. You can probably get one for as little as the price of a pizza!
