Online School for Stay-At-Home Moms
Written by Jacinda Garzon
An evergrowing trend among stay-at-home moms is the need to plan for entering or re-entering the workforce through online schools. An online college education the opportunity to take individual online courses on your schedule without wasting time and effort commuting and waiting for classes to get started. Many established conventional schools have offered the occasional online course, but there's a growing number of online schools that permit you to take all of your classes in a virtual online college environment. The online school makes it easier for stay-at-home moms to get an online college education and extra skills needed in order to reenter the workforce when the time is correct for the family. Online college courses are taught by professors that are dedicated to providing the same education in thier online course, as the traditional student receives from the traditional classroom. An online college is accredited by a recognized accrediting group. When online colleges are accredited and meet government standards they are able to provide financial aid through the government. This permits the online school the opportunity to prepare you for a new job, minus the financial burden of having to afford online college courses out of your current budget. Taking an online course doesn't imply that you are not likely to study nor do writing assignments, however it provides you with added flexibility to fit your online classes into your schedule. The online classroom requires that you have the ability to communicate with your instructor a certain amount of time, and provide classroom type feedback by taking part in chat room discussions or bulletin board postings. Online education courses give you the chance to pursue, and train for any career that you desire without feeling that you are neglecting other areas of your life. The online programs allow you to learn at your own speed, and at times that are convenient for you, rather than tailored to anyone's time schedule but your own. Another potential advantage that you have in taking online courses is superior professor access. Instead of looking to get a question answered within a crowded class or making time for you to see the professor in their work hours, you can simply e-mail them and you will definitely get a return e-mail response. Also you don’t have to be embarrassed by asking the professor for more information, which is too often the situation in classroom environments. In some instances the professor asks that questions be posted on the classroom bulletin board, so that all students can have the same information. Classroom lectures are prerecorded for live streaming or download. This feature will let you stop, pause or rewind the lecture. There's no need to be concerned that you missed a key detail, because you were taking notes. Another advantage is that you can view the video multiple times or maybe you can watch them over a few computer sessions. The lectures fit your schedule, and you are not locked into having to set aside a specific time period, but you will have to be capable of meeting scheduled work deadlines. Some of the notable colleges offering online degrees include Saint Leo University, Kaplan University, Everest University, Colorado Technical University, Ashford and America Intercontinental University. These colleges are all accredited and have financial aid opportunities. All of these college are private for profit, except for Saint Leo University which is a private not for profit university. These colleges all have traditional campuses together with their online courses. Personal time management is an important skill essential for online student. Having the capability to establish goals and meet class work deadlines is essential as you control when you will be viewing the lectures. When you are getting ready to reenter the workforce, begin by getting the skills and degree you require with an online college degree program.
