Organic Germanium
Written by Paul Tomlinson
A quick rundown of Germanium. Germanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ge and atomic number 32. Dmitri Mendeleev put together the periodic table in 1869…. except some elements were missing because they were unknown at that time. Germanium was one of those elements. Inorganic germanium is used in the electronics industry as a semiconductor. Starting in 1922, doctors used the inorganic form of germanium to treat patients with anemia.
There are several forms of germanium. Organic germanium is called germanium sesquioxide. There is also germanium lactate citrate and and germanium dioxide. The form that is germanium dioxide has been pointed to kidney damage and death.
We are interested in germanium’s nutritional aspects. It is seen in very small amounts in Korean ginseng and in garlic as well as comfrey. It can also be found in onions, mushrooms, whole wheat flower, bran, meats and other items. Organic germanium on the other hand is being looked at as one of the best nutritional means in the fight against cancer. Germanium, like sulpher, allows oxygen to move across a cell membrane which in turn promotes multiplication of cells and regeneration. In that manner, germanium acts as a free radical scavenger. Today nutritionists are looking at germanium with eye towards helping those with arthritis, cancer, HIV, Aids, as well as a number of other maladies.
But there are naysayers out there. Some say that germanium is dangerous, causing renal failure and even death. They will also say that the risk for toxicity will override any benefit that you might receive from the supplement. However, there is evidence to support that the issues folks were having with germanium sesquioxide was due to contamination and that toxicity exists at rather high levels.
Organic germanium is the form that should be taken if you are in search of one of the following benefits. You may also see the name as GE 132.
Benefits of Germanium
* Anti Cancer Properties
* Pain Relief
* Fights Free Radicals
* Boosts Immune System… which enhances ability to fight viruses
My recommendation is to first find germanium in its natural form. Otherwise seek out organic germanium or GE 132 as a nutritional supplement. The non-disputed expert in the field of germanium is Dr Kazuhiko Asai PhD. I’ll leave you with a quote from Dr. Asai. “I have whole-heartedly devoted myself to the study of germanium for close to 30 years. At the outset, I intended to describe the therapeutic efficacy of germanium. Gradually, however, I have been led to believe the existence of something in germanium that cannot be fully explained in terms of science in its present stage of development, when I see that obstinate diseases for which modern medicine is powerless are successfully cured by our germanium therapy. As will be seen later, the organic germanium compound can be regarded without exaggeration as an effective means of combating almost any disease.”
If you need any more information about organic germanium, I’ll be happy to forward an ebook to you… just ask.
