Did you know that where you live in Australia will play a major role in determining what kinds of outdoor power products will be most useful for your home? This is because Australia is made up of 6 different climate conditions, with as many as 3 different climates being experienced in a single state or territory. So, what sorts of equipment does your Australian climate call for?

Arid
Living in the top end of Western and South Australia or the bottom of the Northern Territory is where you will experience an arid climate. As you will suffer from a severe lack of water, plant growth in these areas will not be very healthy (if it exists at all).
The power products most useful in arid climates are: brushcutters, generators, posthole diggers, tillers, and pumps.

Humid Subtropical
Living along the coast of Queensland is where you are going to find a humid subtropical climate. As the area receives the highest rainfall in Australia, plant life flourishes.
The outdoor power products most useful in these areas are: lawnmowers, log splitters, chainsaws, brushcutters, chipper shredders, hedge trimmers, and pressure washers.

Marine West Coast
Living in Tasmania or along the coast of Victoria and New South Wales is where you are most likely to experience a marine west coast climate. These areas lack a definitive dry season, having their rainfall spread fairly evenly across the year.
The power products that are most useful in these areas include: lawnmowers, chainsaws, brushcutters, chipper shredders, and lawn edgers.

Mediterranean
Living along the bottom end of Australia, so the Victorian, South and Western Australian coastline is where you are likely to find a Mediterranean climate. This is a variety of the subtropical climate, meaning you are likely to experience hot dry summers and mild to cool winters.
The outdoor power products you will find most useful are: lawnmowers, log splitters, chainsaws, brushcutters, chipper shredders, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and pressure washers.

Tropical Wet and Dry
Living along the top end of Australia, so along the coast of the Northern Territory and Queensland, is where you will experience tropical wet and dry climates. These areas will experience distinct wet and dry seasons (that are usually of around equal length) throughout the year.
The outdoor power products must useful in these areas include: lawnmowers, log splitters, chainsaws, brushcutters, chipper shredders, and leaf blowers.

Semi-Arid
Living in the centre of Queensland and New South Wales, or just inland in the Northern Territory, Western and South Australia is where you are likely to find a semi-arid environment. This puts you halfway between an arid and a humid climate, meaning you still receives water, but not as much as other parts of the country.
The power products that you will find most useful include: whipper snippers and brushcutters, generators, posthole diggers, tillers, and pumps.

Next time you are choosing outdoor power products for your home choose ones that you will find most useful based on the climate that you live in.
