Outsourcing challenges that are reforming and modernizing BPO consultants in USA
Written by Shormistha chatterjee
In 2017, Business Process Outsourcing sectors have grown by leaps and bounds. Between 2012 and 2016, the BPO sector in the global platform grew at a compound annual growth rate of 4.4% to touch $140.3 billion total revenues in the year 2016. Along with higher demand, BPO Industry is facing some major challenges in the international market. To expand in the upcoming years, BPO consultants in USA need to handle these challenges with the proactive methodology. Else, these critical business challenges will keep on plaguing outsourcing industry. The higher demand for lucrative business solutions will continue to drive the growth of BPO services in US in the next 5-6 years. 2016-2017 report stated that the global Business Process Outsourcing sector is expected to grow by 6% yearly. This is proof that businesspersons still consider third-party service providers as main components of their business strategies.
Offshoring bring companies great opportunities to acquire competent talents while letting them diversify their business operations and extend their market reach. And above, enterprises get to save on operation costs without compromising on the quality of their outputs. To date, some of the biggest names in the sector—namely the Philippines, the USA and India remain powerful. New pioneering locations in other parts of the globe are also emerging as a result of growing demands for outsourcing services. Though there is a growth of outsourcing, the industry is currently facing several challenges, which are refining company’s business models.
• Process automationr
It is estimated that 46-47% of today’s jobs may be automated in upcoming future and that non-human tools may be capable of handling about 84-85% of customer service interactions by the year 2020. Like other tech trends, this can disrupt business processes in major ways. The new wave of Robotic Process Automation can so dramatically increase the capacity of work in a cost- effective manner and with such a great level of accuracy, that intensive back-office tasks are being ‘picked up’ by rapidly progressed automation technologies. If the predictions above are correct, we might see dropping demands for Business Process Outsourcing companies soon, as brands may turn to cloud-hosted robotics that can systematize jobs currently being done by humans. Plus, automation software is inexpensive, costing only about 1/9th of the amount companies spend for a permanent worker. This is yet other factor that may motivate companies to start absorbing robotic automation solutions. The challenge for outsourcing companies, for that reason, is to provide higher-value services.
• Talent unavailability due to migrationr
One of the major challenges in BPO hiring is to find the best and competent workforce to work in the industry. According to a current survey it was noticed that only a handful of graduates are truly suitable and ready to work in such industry. Talent availability has long been a conce
for many BPO companies around the globe, and swelling migration rates are not helping them. Offshore companies have yet to find out means to ensure jobs for their staffs. To combat this threat, companies must work with the governments as they strive to create promising employment prospects for local graduates. This is yet another challenging task; however, lessening talent outflow can help them building a more sustainable economy.
• Higher demands for Reshoringr
Reshoring, also called backshoring or onshoring, is the procedure of re-absorbing previously outsourced solutions into one’s in-house operations. There are numerous reasons that are driving this trend, and one is the increased costs of offshoring in several locations. However, it’s most prevalent in the manufacturing industry, where 54% of US executives in 2015 (compared with 7% in 2012) stated that they are considering moving their production back to their premises. Moreover, the wage gap between countries is also expected to shrink over the next 9-10 years. This may indeed convince businesspersons to redesign their business strategies by re-shoring their operations, although it’s not likely to happen in the near term.
• Rise of new BPO destinationsr
Well-known outsourcing companies will be challenged by emerging hubs in countries that have yet to completely utilize their capacity to handle offshored facilities. And above, brands are also looking for companies that can provide multilingual customer service. While this is an automatic benefit for inherently different-speaking populations, multi-cultural regions will continue delivering multilingual services.
These are some of the most common challenges being faced by the sector. For popular offshoring spots, the test is to up-skill their employees, procure more clever and effective tools and enhance their services by removing defies and targeting their own weaknesses. Doing such things so will ensure that they can survive tough high business competitions in the global platform.
