Outsourcing Secrets For Internet Marketers - How to Get Started With Delegating Your Tedious Tasks
Written by Elisabeth Kuhn
Are you feeling overwhelmed by all you're trying to keep up with? Are you developing stiff hips and legs because you're sitting at your computer all day long?
Internet marketing was supposed to liberate us from cubicle hell. Instead, for many of us, it's turning into an entirely new hell we had no idea was there. The work never ends. We crawl out of bed in the morning bleary-eyed, start with checking our email while the coffee is brewing, and at night, the clock ticks on as we do one more thing... after another.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Look at the tasks that you do all day. Do you really have to do ALL of them yourself? If you're like most people, you're actually working with murky territory here. So I'm going to give you a way to get some clarity:
Get a small, portable notepad. Start by writing down each task you do, depending on the size of your notepad, one per page, or several per page, with lots of room for notes.
You will probably find this challenging, so take a few days and keep that notepad by your side. Every time you do a task, add it to the list. If it's already listed, put a checkmark next to it.
After a few days, you'll have a long list of tasks. Some of them will have lots of check marks, and some of them will have fewer.
And that's not all. Now go take yourself - and your list of the things you do -- out for a nice long walk (yes, they're good for you, and, in fact, I recommend you add this particular activity to your daily to-do list), and ponder all the things you're supposed to do but you don't seem to have time for.
Add them to your list.
Now, look through your list and ask yourself some questions:
Which of the tasks on your list do you enjoy most?
Which of them do you hate?
Which of them are you good at?
Which of them do you struggle with?
Go through them, one by one, and take careful notes. Then decide on a couple and look into outsourcing them. See how it goes. Then add more.
The end result if you do it right: a happier, healthier you, a healthier bottom line, and a work day with much more reasonable hours that has you do the things you love while others take care of the rest.
