Patience – An Important Life Skill
Written by JP International School
"The two most powerful warriors are patience and time." - Leo Tolstoy
Life is often a tumultuous ride rather than a smooth one.Without the undulations that we come across in our paths of life, the gamut of experiences remains incomplete. Also, it is the rough times of life that makes sure that the naïve minds morph into analytical, matured, and wise ones. However, keeping the attitude right when the circumstances are not equally accurate is the key to lead a successful life.
The virtue that ensures such courage and calmness in times of difficulties is surely patience. A person with endurance and patience is sure to survive every battle life offers. Hence, patience is one of the most significant life skills that everyone must start learning at an early age. And this is exactly why it is vital that parents ensure teaching the skill of patience to their children. Patience is the key that enables the little ones to gradually blossom into individuals of strong moral values and life-transforming virtues. And below are a few reasons why we, at JP International School, school greater Noida strongly believe in the essentiality of instilling the value of patience in kids.
Enhances Decision Making Ability
Ask a child to do the same work when he/she is angry and when being patient. You will observe, the same person would act differently depending on the mental state. While a calm and enduring mind helps a child to react wisely and take more grounded and well-analyzed decisions, an immensely tempted mind always forces a child to act randomly without giving a thought to the consequences that might follow. Hence, there is no denying that a child gains the ability to control its mind better and act rationally when the patient.
Promotes Healthy Relationship
Be it with friends at school or parents at home, patience is one quality that can save a child from colossal damages. Arguments, differences in opinion, fallouts, and disagreements are some of the common aspects of any relationship. If a child learns to remain patient even during a hot exchange of words, he/she learns to control his/her temper and grasps the trick to stay calm even when the outside environment is turbulent. This, in turn, helps the child to behave maintaining the decency standards. On the flip side, if a child lacks patience, he/she would fall prey to the circumstantial provocations and behave indecently, reflecting a wrong image to the others.
Makes Children Learn to Respect
Children with an enhanced level of patients tend to respect others more than those who get tempted every now and then. Patience is an obvious outcome of the process of understanding the other's point of view as well, no matter how those vary from one's own. Acceptance and inclusion are two aspects that get deep-rooted when patience is fostered. Hence, teaching your child to remain patient would ultimately help them to possess an analytical view of everything while not disregarding the views of others. Once a child masters the art of being patient, the ability to respect others and their opinions also goes up, making the kid a well-behaved and sorted one that everyone would praise.
Enhances Focus
With patience comes focus and concentration. A mind, incapable of organizing the random thoughts that emerge from the conscious as well as the subconscious mind, can never afford to focus on anything to its best capacity. When you teach your kid to be patient, it automatically makes your child's mind calmer and organized, enabling it to focus entirely on anything the child does.
At JP International School, one among the Top Rated Schools in Greater Noida, we believe that patience is one virtue that not only gets reflected through the social behavior of kids, but also leaves its marks on their academic performances.
