Metaphysical teaching through the ages has proposed that fostering a certain mentality will connect us to the esoteric and the supernatural. Meditation, positive affirmations, focused breath and movement, are all spiritual practices which guide one to develop a sense of inner connection to the infinite. And the simple, yet profound act of deciding to make things happen, consciously assuming responsibility for the quality of our life, creates shifts which seem to literally influence our ability to actualize and manifest what we want.

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.”
~Lao-Tzu~

Sometimes ordinary life appears to run on alternative time; cosmic timing. A thought comes and within minutes it materializes. And sometimes months or years pass before a desire becomes reality. Out of the blue without further deliberation the dragon egg hatches. Does a particular mindset influence the timing for the extraordinary to occur? Here are some wonderful stories about the power of mind to encourage, inspire and challenge your thinking, about what is possible and what you are capable of achieving.

One morning Leo declared, “It’s time for me to live alone! I have lived with other people for years, which has been great, but I am ready for a change. I am going to find my own home! I want to live in a small space in the woods, where I will be surrounded by nature”… No more than ten minutes later, walking through the city park, Leo bumped into an old friend he hadn’t seen for awhile. “Hey, how’s it going? What have you been up to lately?” he asked. “Things are pretty much the same, but I am moving… I have this place in the woods. Do you know anyone who might be interested in renting it?” his friend answered…

I believe these resolute moments create a certain mindset and physiology that seems to go hand and hand with manifesting. Woven through my psychic experiences, and others people have shared, this is the common thread. During these times, there is also an unusual surge of energy, yet ironically the mind intensely focused, remains quiet and still…

“If we truly want to create a life that is grounded in basic well-being, we must decide to commit ourselves to learning what it takes to thrive instead of merely survive.” Susan Velasquez

For years I wondered about Renee, especially after finding my other childhood friends Janet and Alice within a month of each other. You will find their story, “Tales of Telepathy” in the archives of this blog, in amazing stories category. An interesting thing to note here is that after reuniting with Janet, she spoke painfully about Renee. For whatever the reasons, Janet was the target of some of Renee’s adolescent bullying in High School. Knowing this information put me in somewhat of a quandary. I didn’t want to stir up bad memories for Janet, and childhood conflicts of loyalty resurfaced, so I shelved the desire to relocate Rene. But the thought and perhaps some need for closure persisted. Also, I realized that we are adults now, and Janet’s inner conflicts had nothing to do with me, sorry as I was to hear what had transpired in the absent years. Renee and her family provided a home away from home when I most need one… Last month I received an email through my Facebook page. It was from a man I went to elementary school with, who was in the same class with me and Renee. I have little recall of those years, and embarrassing as it is to admit, I did not remember this man until he sent a copy of our 5th grade class picture. We emailed back and forth and I asked if he knew what happened to Renee. “Yes, our families were in touch for many years, and though you have forgotten, we all played together at her house. “Do you know where she is now” I continued? “I actually worked in a building across the street from her while I was living in Southern California. I think I still have her business card. I will forward her contact information to you if you like.” Forty five years later Renee and I reconnected through emails. It was a healing…
