Perspective

PerspectivernI was watching a heron fishing, she was searching for her next meal, her graceful, purposeful movements, unconsciously executed with great precision and yet effortlessly, but also with great focus and concentration. As I stood watching I wondered how big her universe was. As she was intent on catching her next meal, her perception of her universe would have been on the slowly flowing water and the fish that she was searching for. When she had finished fishing she would look up to see the river bank so her universe would expand, then, when she took flight her universe would expand even further, encompassing the countryside below her and also the sky around and above her. If she were able to fly higher she would have a greater perspective as the earth below her started to recede, but gaining a clearer vision of all that lay before her. Yet higher still and the earth would continue to recede, but now she would be able to see the earth as a whole, with its own place in the universe, the stars above and around her spreading into infinity and beyond, and so her universe expands as she flies higher and higher. Even after she had landed back upon the ground she would have the memory and the expanded consciousness of her universe and of her place within the eternity of time even when her feet were firmly planted on the ground. Allow your consciousness to gradually expand, like that of the heron, this knowledge of the vastness and the greatness of the universe and all it contains is within us all, but has been suppressed and forgotten. So many of us have been conditioned not to look too far, not to rise above ourselves‘ to do the bidding of those who are supposed to know what is best for us. We have lost the ability to live our dreams and to realise that we are the sum of our dreams. When we allow ourselves to look beyond our own boundaries we realise that there are in fact no boundaries, that they are created by fear and repression and a forgotten ability to connect with ourselves and therefore with every living being in this universe. Do not be afraid to lift your head up from your own safe view of the universe. Draw the veil of your world apart and see the truth beyond.
