Relaxing Into Reiki

REIKI TODAY
Reiki is an ancient healing art that has recently been re-ndiscovered in Japan. With the resurrection of Reiki in thisnage of mass and almost instantaneous communication, nword of its power is quickly gaining the attention of thenmainstream world. The mode of transmission of Reiki energynfrom a Reiki practitioner to a recipient wasnoriginally believed, by those interested in this art, to benlimited by physical proximity. The Reiki practitioner wouldnplace their hands gently on, or a few inches above thenReiki recipient's body. Upon further exploration of thenpotential of Reiki, "sending" the energy to the recipient ornsituation has proven to be just as beneficial as Reikin"hands-on" sessions. In fact, those who are too busy toncarve out the time for a Reiki session can now go aboutntheir business while receiving the energy. Reiki Masters, nsuch as myself, have directed Reiki energy to boardrooms, npets, surgical procedures, courtrooms, business offices, nplants and even sporting events. Reiki distance energynhealing has become a viable option for those who wouldnrather not have a "hands-on" session, are home bound, ornsimply don't have the time for a session. Afternexperimenting with this mode of transmission, Inwas utterly amazed at the results. One year of daily remotensessions to a seriously disabled arthritic friend ended upnjust about eliminating the crippling condition. Today thisnfriend is not only employed, but is doing work thatnrequires physical movement and stamina. As the power of
Reiki spreads, individuals seeking Reiki energy now havenmore options in weaving treatments into their schedulesnand lifestyles.
ORIGIN OF REIKI ENERGY
The origin of this powerful healing energy is believed tonbe divine. It is the same energy that has been channelednby all the historically famous healing giants. Regardless ofnits source, or why it works, the results are always positivenand directed toward the best outcomes. There is nondanger of misuse or abuse. Reiki energy cannot be forced.
An individual simply will not take in what it does notnwant. When Reiki energy is accepted, the highestngood of all prevails. The recipient of Reiki need notnstudy, understand or believe in its power and beauty. Innfact, the recipient need not be awake while receiving thenenergy. Reiki energy always delivers the highest good.
Considering the source, how could it do anything else?
The only prerequisite is that the recipient, on a soul level, nreally wants to heal. The positive effects of Reiki energyncould be quick and dramatic, or, take time to be noticed.
The results are unpredictable and pleasantly surprising.
One simply needs to trust in the intelligent nature of thensource. An acute power of observation would be handy, nonly to affirm its often subtle life changes and effects.
FOREIGN NAMEnUNIVERSALLY ACCEPTED ENERGY
One need not be mislead or intimidated by Reiki's foreignnname. Reiki is called such because, as it happened, thisnold system of prayer and healing was again returned tonmankind via a Japanese man called Dr. Usui. The namen"Reiki" is Japanese because that was Dr. Usui's nativenlanguage. This healing art was known and utilized longnbefore its resurgence under a Japanese name. The divinenis not concerned with nationality. When utilizing Reikinenergy, one is merely tapping into the magnanimous lovenof the divine (God, life force, universe, Christ force, etc).
Famous ancient healers such as Jesus used the exact samensource of energy as is used by "Reiki." Jesus once said thatnall he can do can be done by us and even more. Thenkey ingredient is trust. As a Reiki Master, I have learnednto trust in the goodness and intelligence of this energy.
APPLICATIONS & LIMITATIONS
The beauty of this divine love is that it does notndiscriminate between believers and skeptics. Its powernhas been utilized to positively impact a multitude ofnpeople and situations from NBA basketball gamesn(calming potentially volatile players) to conservativeninstitutions such as Wall Street. The healing power of
Reiki can be directed toward individuals, pets, plants,nliving/working spaces, businesses, situations and evennfuture events. This loving energy now called "Reiki" isnincapable of hurting other individuals for personal gain.
Extremely specific requests can be very limiting. Onenneeds to reflect on the general desired outcome behindnthe request. An example would be to ask for the "growthnof one's business." It would be more productive to asknwhat you would want from its growth. It may be better tonask for "financial freedom." This broader approach freesnup the hands of the divine to send you your best outcome.
Reiki always works toward the best outcomes. When mynclients present me with a request, I will ask that the energynbe utilized for the "highest and best" of the individual ornsituation. It is good to remember that one is only limitednby their imagination and purity of intent.
REIKI HEALING FACILITATORnTRAINING AND LEVELS
An individual can receive Reiki from what is known as an"Reiki practitioner." The practitioner can lightly place theirnhands on various parts of the recipient's clothed body or,nthe practitioner can remotely send the Reiki energy. Innboth distance and hands-on healing, the recipient's ownnbody's innate wisdom actually draws the energy throughnthe practitioner and directs it to its highest good. Thenhealing occurs on a soul determined priority basis.
Healing can be physical, emotional or spiritual. I alwaysnfind it interesting and amazing to witness how the healingnunfolds. The practitioner is not responsible for makingnhealing decisions for the recipient. The recipient is thenactual healer. The Reiki practitioner merely acts as anconduit of the energy thus serving as a "healingnfacilitator."
Those who believe in a supreme intelligence can elect tonbelieve the source to be divine, thus creating ancooperative union between one's inner knowing (thensoul), and the source (God). My personal evaluation of itsnmagnificent power places God/Universe/Source as thenultimate source of this energy, however, one's personalnbeliefs or lack thereof do not hinder nor enhance thenresults of a Reiki treatment.
Other healing modalities manipulate "Ki" or life energy.
Examples include the martial arts, acupuncture, therapeuticntouch, and other forms of "energy work." Reiki is differentnin that it is extremely focused and need not be guided by anspecial effort or entering an altered state. The energyndestination is divinely directed.
Going through a special intensive training certifies a Reikinpractitioner. The training is conducted by a Reiki
Master/Teacher and includes a sacred ceremony called a
"attunement." Generally, only after being attuned, can onenchannel the Reiki energy.
There are different levels and abilities of a Reikinpractitioner. To advance from one level to another, anperspective Reiki practitioner must receive a
"attunement". Generally, a person cannot channel Reikinenergy without this ceremony. The first level is Reiki I. AnReiki I practitioner is empowered to channel Reiki energynby physically touching an individual with their hands.
There must be physical proximity. A Reiki II practitioner isnable to "send" the Reiki energy as well as giving hands-onntreatments. Again, a special attunement is required tonmove to this advanced level. The Reiki II practitioner canndirect Reiki energy to an individual, plant or animal ornsituation. When feasible, permission is required. In casesnwhen granting permission is not possible, the Reikinpractitioner can seek soul-approval. The next level is ReikinIII. A Reiki III practitioner is known as a Reiki Master. Innaddition to the abilities of Reiki I and II, Reiki IIInpractitioners are empowered with the ability to givenattunements. A great deal of training by the master occursnprior to, and then after, the attunement.
FUTURE OR PAST EVENT
Reiki distance healing energy can be sent to a past ornfuture event. A childhood trauma can be relieved of itsngrip on a suffering adult. An important exam ornpresentation can be performed with a commandingncalmness. A Reiki II trained police officer can send Reikininto a home where a disturbed individual is about to harmnthemselves or others. Reiki sent to hospice patients couldnreduce the pain and anxiety of those about to expire.
Peace would replace fear. One preparing for surgery couldnexperience less pain, lose less blood, and have a fasternrecovery. I choose the word "could" because the use ofnthe energy is determined by the recipient's soul. The onlynguarantee is that the Reiki energy is going to the highestngood. It always does.
SITUATIONS AND CORPORATIONS
Situations can often benefit from Reiki energy. The Reikinenergy gently works to produce harmony and claritynwhere anxiety and discord had prevailed. Both the homenand workplace are excellent targets of Reiki energy.
Relationships that are "stuck" are moved toward thenhighest good of all. The end results could be resolution orndissolution. All parties will have the opportunity to moventoward their higher good. Corporate teams across thencountry have been utilizing Reiki as a gentle catalystntoward harmony and greater productivity. Dysfunctionalnteams have moved toward harmony and trust whilencorporations reap the benefits. Homes and workplacesnthat just didn't "feel good" have been cleared of negativenresidual energies using Reiki's infinite power.
EMOTIONAL PARALYSIS
Emotional paralysis resulting from an unexpected loss, nevent or confrontation responds quickly to hands-on ornremotely sent Reiki energy. The individual will experiencena calmness and clarity that will help them make rationalndecisions as to their course of action. Thus far, a majoritynof my Reiki distance energy treatments are to individualsnwho have lost their ability to function due to an emotionalnupset. Hurts inflicted by loved ones rank high on the listnfor producing an emotional paralysis. The individual is songripped with emotion that they cannot even securenmedical or psychological assistance. I am still in awe as tonthe power of Reiki to bring peace to where there was oncenchaos.
REIKI DISTANCE TREATMENTSnSCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE
The beauty of Reiki distance healing is its practicality andnits power. As a trained scientist, I can understand thenneed to have more than anecdotal evidence. Only after Inexperienced the power of Reiki first hand did I trulynbelieve in its authentic power.
For those of you who would like to seek out some data, Incan direct you to some scientific evidence. Distance Reikinis energy directed like a powerful prayer. By "prayer" I amnspeaking of directing your energy rather than asking forndivine favors. Dr. Larry Dossey has documented scientificnstudies on the power of prayer. Before Dr. Dossey's earlynbook, "Healing Words" was published in 1993, only three
U.S. medical schools had courses exploring the role ofnprayer in health. Currently, nearly fifty medical schoolsnoffer such courses. The majority of them use Dr. Dossey'snbooks as the textbooks for the courses. References arenmade to controlled double-blind experiments withnunknowing groups of human patients. The results affirmnthe undeniable power of prayer.
A second set of experiments that can be researched arenthose conducted by Bruce and John Klingbeil, thenfounders of Spindrift. Their experiments on prayer utilizednsimple organisms instead of humans. The choice of lessncomplex subjects reduced the variables inherent in humannstudies. As expected, prayer significantly affected thengermination of seeds as well as vitality of various lowernorganisms such as yeast and molds.
As a certified and experienced Reiki Master/Teacher, Inview the acceptance of Reiki energy as both preventativenand healing intervention. The amount of time andnsessions required varies from individual to individual. Inhave observed that major life changes and physicalnhealings may take some time. It took a bit of time to createnthe illnesses or situations, thus patience and trust arenhelpful. On occasion, illnesses that are being forced fromnthe body, actually get worse before they get better. This isnwhen it is so very important to continue with thentreatments. As your body is working to rid itself of toxins, nit is extremely important to drink large quantities of wate
and continue with prescribed medical/psychologicalnmedications and recommendations. Reiki should not benused as a substitute for medical care. It should be used asna compliment to professional medical/psychological carenmedications and recommendations.
