However, when you are planning this holiday, make sure that you have an itinerary in place. There are many destinations across the continent that is worth visiting and it may become overwhelming to decide on the spur where to go. Hence, a planned holiday is what you should be looking for.
Some of the most popular holiday destinations include Madrid, London, Paris, Rome and Prague. However, you can also go off the beaten track and visit the beautiful city of Budapest in Hungary. From there, Vienna in Austria is quite close. You can choose to reach Vienna by road, train or avail cheap flight deals. Many of the European airlines offer fantastic deals if you take return flights during weekdays and extend your stay through the weekend.
While many of the popular cities may not be that cheap for a budget holiday, you can still manage to enjoy your time without breaking your bank. The rich history and culture in different parts of Europe make your holiday special. In London, you can visit the Buckingham Palace, stroll along the Thames or hear Big Ben chime. In fact, visiting London during the 2012 Olympics may be a good idea if you are into sports.
Spain offers a completely different kind of entertainment with its vibrant colors and atmosphere. You should try to visit the country during carnival season when there are huge parades held in different cities and town. Spring months are best spent in Paris where you can take a romantic stroll through the boulevards, enjoy a visit to Eiffel Tower, see the wonders of Louvre Museum or get awed by the Notre Dame Castle.
If you are spiritually inclined, head to Italy, for it is where the Vatican is. Here you can visit numerous cathedrals and churches. Rome is also a city of fashion, and some of the best deals on couture are available at Via Borgogona, Via Frattina and Via Condotti.
Gothic architecture lovers will enjoy their stay at Prague and Budapest. Here you can see many historical landmarks and also some mystical sites. The atmosphere in Prague is unique. It can be somber and charming simultaneously. Budapest is popular for its fresh water lake, Lake Balaton. This region is also famous for the Formula 1, which is held every year in the month of August. Europe has everything that a person would want during a holiday. It has the choicest of holiday destinations and the best of historical landmarks and rich cultural traditions. All these are waiting for the intrepid traveler. With so many cheap flights to Europe, reaching your chosen destination will never be an issue.
