Planning for your Goa Trip
Time of a week is good enough to explore Goa’s major sites like Old Goa and Ponda as well as to stagnate on some of Goa’s famous beaches. When it comes to get around the state, it would be better to hire a taxi and travel from north to south. With a complete week in hand, you can savor Goa’s coastal areas from Tiracol in the north to Palolem in the south. You may tour some ancient temples and churches at Tambdi Surla, and some traditional Portuguese buildings in Chandor too on your way.
Goa has a number of beaches, thirty nine in exact, which lie all along its magical coast line. Since every beach has its own charm and specialty, you need to make a selection based on your preference. For fun, entertainment and parties, Anjuna and Chopra are the perfect destinations, while Candolium and Mobor would be the best if you love peace and tranquility. At a short distance away from the coast, Goa showcases the richness of its cultural heritage. Visiting Old Goa, you can explore an excellent range of ancient monuments, which reflect the architectural and life style of Portuguese.
When is the best time to visit Goa? Though Goa features tropical climate throughout the year, the most feasible time for Goa holiday is the winter season. Ranging from mid-October to March, this season boasts warm, clear and dry weather. The humidity comes to its lowest and the rainfall drops significantly during this time. The coastal areas become calm and pleasant, and conditions become perfect for water activities like snorkeling, scuba-diving, water rafting and surfing. Moreover, Goa celebrates two major annual festivals – Christmas and New Year during the winter season.
It’s always good keep light and minimum when it comes to packing for Goa holiday. Try to avoid large suitcases, and use a sturdy backpack to carry your travel accessories. Light cotton cloths, sleepers, light sports shoes, camera and some dry eatables are the good options to take with. However, it’s always suggested to conduct an online research about the features and price of Goa packages prior to finalize your deal.
