Today, I remembered some powerful words of Jesus and it gave me hope because worry crept in my mind, and I needed an immediate escape. Often times, we believers, fight negative thinking and worry can ruin the day but Jesus gave us His words to meditate on, day and night. The powerful words of Jesus gives us hope with the reality the best is yet to come and we can have a wonderful life.

Jesus talked a lot about worry! “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing” (Matthew 6:2)? Clearly Jesus knows that through everything heard in prayer, people tend to worry a lot about necessary resources needed to survive but if God can feed the birds he will also feed you. In other words, if God isn’t worried about your survival you have no need to worry either!

All of us have a need to be loved and Jesus says wonderful things on this topic. For example, “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12), “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). Now because God is love, He requires those of us who love Him to love our neighbors, enemies, and mean spirited persecutors! Hatred is a very powerful feeling and you can hate someone as long as you want but the only person you are hurting is yourself. So love yourself, love God, and love others.

Another subject Jesus loved to talk about was the Kingdom of God. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33), “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). Do you believe in kingdom principles and hold on to the reality of God’s Kingdom? Millions of people are driven by something but few rarely talk on the subject of the Kingdom of God! Each day, the kingdom should be your focus and you carry it with you everyday.

Have you ever faced persecution? Around the world there’s stories of Christians being killed and tortured for their faith. This is something we have not endured in the west but it is a reality for millions and Jesus talked about persecution to his disciples, and He warned us that persecution is a fact for those who believe in Him. “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also” (John 15:20).

There are hundreds of powerful words of Jesus and His truth will set you free. Whatever you are facing in life, Christ Jesus will be there to help you and you should praise His name, today, because you are free to read His word and pray power prayers that will transform your situation. So don’t just read the scriptures, quote them with faith and power.
