Written by Amanda Bos
When travelers go to Rajasthan, being a part of Pushkar Fair will be the main agenda. This is because a colorful state like Rajasthan has this tradition of conducting Camel fair every November. This is a small town of Rajasthan where one can see the vibrant and traditions of the state always alive. One of the India's most frenzy fair, there is perhaps no fair in the world that can match up to this.
Pushkar hosts the largest camel fair in the world. A rare occasion for local villagers and for travelers who come from far distance to meet and celebrate this annual fair. The desert here is not made of only sand, it has Camels, Color and Culture! People who visit enjoy the style and colors of Pushkar. Hindu pilgrims take a holy dip in Pushkar lake, known to be sacred that washes off the sins made in this lifetime. And Pushkar is the only place where you will find a Brahma temple. Being a culturally rich state, Rajasthan has traditions and art that reflect ancient ways of Indian life. The Folk culture and Camel fair are symbolic representations of the state. Rajasthan means the land of Kings where once Kings ruled. It is here in this occasion where the Camels rule! And one can experience the Thar desert, the Camels, a Camel ride and a Camel fair like Pushkar Fair. Pushkar is otherwise a sleepy town with rural feel. But during the fair, the entire scene appears to be like a big celebration.

Set on the hindu calender's most auspicious day, Karthik Poo
