You can do more on your lunch hour than just sit down, eat lunch, and stare at your phone. Your body is harboring so much hidden stress that you may not even realize it. These four quick self-care treatments can help to alleviate your stress, improve your mood, and energize you to complete your workday.

Massage Therapy

A great way to help rejuvenate your body during your lunch break is to schedule a quick massage therapy session. Massage therapy boasts multiple mental and physical benefits that will help you to finish out your work week with improved circulation, a reduced amount of stress, and an increased sense of relaxation. You can feel benefits from a massage therapy session in as little as 15 minutes.

Everyone has that extra 15 pounds that they just can't get rid of. Luckily, you can visit a local dermatology and laser center that offers a treatment called coolsculpting. Coolsculpting is a new method for treating excess fat cells. It is a quick, noninvasive procedure that uses cold temperatures to promote a process called apoptosis within your fat cells to help eliminate them. The entire treatment takes about an hour, which you can easily fit into your next lunch break.

Take a Rest

Although you're entitled to mandatory breaks during your workday, your body and mind can always use some extra time to rest. Although a short rest can't give you the benefits of a full night's sleep, a half hour of quiet rest can improve your mood, relieve eye strain, and calm your mind. Quiet rest is considered the time you spend off of your feet with your eyes closed and your body in a supine or reclined position to give your spine a break from holding you upright.

Get Yourself a Treat

Many people are motivated by rewards, regardless of how small. You are no different. If you had a great first half of your workday, buy yourself a treat during your lunch break. This treat can be anything that will give you happiness and motivate you to be productive for the rest of the day. A delicious gourmet coffee, a new pair of shoes, a video game, or a helping of your favorite meal are all considered to be worthwhile motivational treats.

Make sure to get a little exercise during your lunch break as a self-care treatment as well. Exercise is healthy for your body and mind on multiple levels and can prove to be beneficial with just a 10-minute session.
