Continuing the Treatment:

Unfortunately, several patients tend to quit the treatment mid-way or refuse to go in for follow-up treatment. Getting cured of the disease completely should be the goal. Further, follow-up treatment will give an idea of the progress that the patient has been making. The doctors would certainly help if the patient shows any sign of taking up alcohol again.

Recovering Is a Gradual Process:

So, if you and your family are looking for a sudden change, then you are bound to be disappointed. Further, those looking to quit drinking should have the will power to do so. There is simply no point in getting treated only to start drinking again. The cost for this treatment is on the higher side and hence it would turn out to be a waste of time and money.

If the problem persists despite medical attention, the patient is touted to be in a bad shape. For such cases, it is suggested that they be admitted to de-addiction centers for a complete cure. Residential treatment will work wonders as the patient will be under medical care continuously.
