Relationship Help:10-10-10. We love the idea of alignment, but,â¦..????
Written by Rhoberta Shaler, PhD
Today is an auspicious date. In some traditions, it is the day of Triple Happiness. Three perfect tens. There are also special “fives” this month as there are five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays. Apparently, this only happens every 823 years. It’s so cosmic! Auspicious? Magical? Momentous? Perhaps, but it stirs something within us.
I’m suggesting it nudges our desire for alignment. We want to be aligned with something good, something magical, something bigger than ourselves. And, we want to feel aligned. We know it feels good…or would feel good.
BIG QUESTIONS:
Are we willing to do our own work to live in alignment?
Are we willing to really play on our own teams?
Are we willing to embrace expansion and erase constriction?
At Sow Peace™ International, we embrace expansion and expansiveness. World peace is a big desire, yet, it cannot–and, will not–happen without peace within ourselves and in our relationships at home, at work and in the community. There is no point paying lip service to wanting peace while yelling at the driver in front of us. That is NOT alignment. So, there’s a simple place to start.
Did you just say “What difference does it make because no one knows?” Oh, no, you didn’t! That’s exactly the kind of thinking that prevents us from realizing peace in our lives. It is not true that no one knows because YOU know. And, your body, mind and spirit is feeling the effects of the anger arousal you created by the stream of expletives you sent in the direction of that driver. You are the one who gave that driver your inner peace. Yes, yes, I know…you just really want to give him a “piece!”
YOU MATTER! Until you treat yourself as though you matter, you cannot realize inner peace. It comes from within, arises from within and is expressed within and without. That’s alignment. When your values, vision, beliefs and purpose match what you do, say, and think.
So, while we may be enchanted with the idea of the alignment of special days like 10-10-10, I invite us all to become enchanted with creating, establishing and realizing inner peace.

A Look at Avoidant Attachment Styles and How They Work
The early development of avoidant attachment creates a coping mechanism that forms in childhood. Disconnected parent-child interactions typically trigger this condition. Dr. Venus Nicolino: You Have To Make Yourself Available To Find Good Relationships
The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
