Gwalior Fort is a fort situated in Gwalior, a state in the central part of India. It is rested on a secluded rock with the view of the town of Gwalior and has many historical buildings. Considered to be among the biggest in India, Gwalior Fort also carries the reputation for having its image issued as a postal stamp from the Postal Service Department in India, in order to honor it. Gwalior Fort was also under the rule of Laksmi Bai of Jhansi and Tatiya Tope. Most rulers of this city have undergone bloodshed to simply protect it from the British. However, the British did manage to capture it in the end. This city is also famous for major institutes like ITM, Scindia School etc. This city is also recognized as a musical city due to Tansen. He was a trained singer residing in Vrindavan, and served Raja Ramchandra of Bandhawgarh. He later on went to be one of the nine jewels of Akbar dynasty.
