Romance Comes In All Shapes And SizesnnSome people think that just because they don’t like red roses, a candlelit dinner, or a sentimental card – they aren’t the romantic type. After getting to knowing the ins and outs of creating romantic moments – I’ve realized that men and women define “romance” in many different ways. If you aren’t a red roses, love note, candlelit dinner type of person – it doesn’t mean you’re immune to romance; it just means you appreciate a different type of romance.
The Encarta dictionary defines “romance” in eleven different ways. It is no wonder why people have different definitions of what they would consider romantic. Here at Magic of Romance, we developed 5 romantic profiles – each for a different type of romance: thoughtful, playful, sentimental, steamy, and reconnecting.nn• Thoughtful romantics appreciate considerate signs of affection. By setting the table for them or sending them a card when you’re away – you are letting them know you care by being attentive to the details in their life.nn• Playful romantic find love in laughter. They enjoy creative and amusing expressions of love from checks for a million kisses to notes falling out of cereal boxes. nn• Sentimental romantics find love in building upon shared memories. Pictures, long letters, and reminiscing touch their hearts. nn• Steamy romantics love the excitement of being together, sharing intimate experiences, and being carried away by the moment. From sexy new lingerie to scattered petals in the bath, steamy romantics feel love through physical connection.nn• Reconnecting romantics find love in spending time together. They enjoy casual walks on the beach and long talks over a great bottle of wine. Happiness is simply being together and enjoying each other’s company.
The most important information you need to plan a magical moment is: what type of romantic are they? The hardest part of planning a romantic moment is overcoming your own idea of romance. Let’s say that Sandi likes gardening and Gene likes football. Would Sandi give Gene a gardening kit for his birthday? Would Gene give Sandi tickets to the football playoffs for their anniversary? The answer is obviously no – they would each try to focus on what they other person likes. The same is true for romantic moments. Sometimes we forget that our idea of romance isn’t always the same as our partners’.
