Setting your fitness goals the right way is one of the best things you can do to achieve effective weight loss results. Before you can even achieve your goal, you have to be very sure of what exactly you want, so that you will have better focus.

Over 80 per cent of people, who write down their goals and visualize them every day, achieve them. But less than 5 per cent actually even write them down. These goes to show you, that if you want to be one of the small percentage of people who succeed in losing weight, you need to write your goals down, and place it prominently at a position where you will see every day. The most successful and wealthy people in the world also wrote down their goals and came up with a plan of action and worked tirelessly towards them. Similarly, you should write down your fitness goals.

So how does this actually work? When you make a decision and write it down, you actually come up with a plan and telling your subconscious mind that you are ready for success, and will settle for nothing less than that. It is a powerful subliminal message which will make you eventually achieve your goal ultimately.

You should also be as specific about how much weight you want to lose, or how exactly you want to look like as well. This way, your subconscious mind will be better prepared and think of ways to achieve your goal.

Write big and exciting goals, goals you will be proud to show off to the rest of the world when you achieve it. Even more importantly, write down the reasons why you want to achieve those goals. For example, if you are a guy, you may want to get six pack abs to attract more girls to you. If you are a girl, you may want to look slimmer so that you can finally buy that cute little dress and show off to your other girlfriends!

There are three types of goals you should be writing down. They are namely, short term, midterm and long term goals. Short term goals are basically what you want to perform each and every day, such as the foods you are going to eat or the exercises you are going to perform. Midterm goals are goals you want to achieve within several months. Long term goals are goals you want to achieve from anything one year from now and more.
