A number of myths surround the field of medicine. The prominent among them relate to diseases that are often said to be untreatable. However, it is not so in many cases. Now, extensive research in the field of medicine has resulted in the detection of methodologies and techniques that help overcome the problems of various ailments and diseases. Besides, there is another myth that some diseases can be cured only through traditional western practices of medicine. However, that is not the case as a number of alte
ative medicinal types like homoeopathy, ayurveda; natural therapy and alte
ative medicine have been standardized to produce the desired effect among human beings.

It is therefore, recommended that people explore all aspects of medicine before coming to a conclusion that a particular disease cannot be cured. There have been instances of cancer being treated in the initial stages using techniques prescribed under alte
ative medicine. These instances have been documented at every stage. If that is the case, how is it that only the traditional western practice of medicine has found acceptance.

The success of alte
ative medicine depends on the level of acceptance and accommodation among the general public. Today, the issues relating to medicine have received international attention, but the will to overcome them are not found very acceptable. Take for instance, the issues relating to aids. Today, billions of dollars are being spent on finding a cure for aids disease. However, in the last two decades no significant break through has been achieved. For people suffering with terminal illness like aids, there is no hope. However, if detected in the initial stages, there are possibilities of treating the patients suffering from aids successfully.

Another myth in the medicine field is that cancer has no cure. Till date only environmental reasons have been held responsible for various forms of cancer. The cancerous condition result on account of multiple mutations of cells due to various reasons. There cannot be any specific reason for the cells to mutate and become cancerous growth. Despite extensive research, accurate treatment technique to cure a person suffering from aids has not bee found out. This again is not because of the lack of will or funding, but these days, achieving medical break through in certain key fields has become highly challenging.

One more myth in the field of medicine is that some problems can be overcome only through surgery. Again, this approach is disputable since surgery should be the last option to overcome a particular problem. As far as possible, surgical intervention should be avoided and the effort should be towards reducing the impact of the ailment through traditional medicine. It is also recommended that people explore some of the ancient practices that have found to be useful in the modern era. For instance, Yoga and meditation practiced in the eastern part of the globe for centuries have produced the desired effect on individuals. People are known to build immunity against diseases by practicing rigorous yoga. If the resistance is built by achieving a lot of immunity, the body will not encounter any problems.
