Kidney beans are the best types, and are considered the most nutritious, and contain about 14 g of protein and 11 g of fibre per cup.

Lean Red Meat

Lean red meats is also rich in protein. But you are not limited to beef alone, because buffalo and venison are also excellent choices of high protein red meats.Bear in mind that lean beef contains some saturated fats and therefore, consumption of this food should be limited to once a week only.

Low Fat Dairy

Low fat foods like cottage, cheese, yoghurt and milk are also great sources of protein. The foods contain a good amount of protein and they are so easy to prepare and can be easily bough at any grocery stores near you.Yogurt is the most recommended dairy, due to the additional benefits of live bacterial cultures, which are beneficial to your digestive system.

Although protein powder is extremely beneficial to your muscle building program, it is not advisable that you use it as a replacement to these high protein foods for building muscle. Aside from protein, you can also get a lot of nutrients from the foods mentioned, and these nutrients cannot be found on some supplements. And more importantly, bear in mind that consuming these high protein foods should be done in moderation because too much of them are definitely unfavorable.
