Social Networking For Your Business - Follow The Experts
Written by Matt Bacak
Social networking and Web 2.0 has been the topic of forums and websites for some time know. Using online software to connect with others is an excellent way to expand your business and let people know who you are. But the question remains... Is social networking for you?
Well, in my opinion, if you’re not making one million dollars online a year, than you don’t even need to consider social networking, because it’s not necessary for you. You won’t make a ton of money. That’s my opinion. But you can still use it to network but don’t go crazy with it. However, I do think there are some social networking sites that you should consider. These are what I use and I think you can gain a strong following for your business by using them too.
Here we go:
Facebook – FaceBook is great! I use it to say “Happy birthday” to people I know. Other than that, I don’t know any other reason to really use it. But Facebook can be a great tool. Actually, it’s an excellent branding mechanism to get my name and my face in front of people again so people can follow and see exactly what I’m doing. It allows me to be real. But that’s pretty much what I notice with it. But if you want to gain more knowledge of this crazy place we call Facebook, Mari Smith is known as the go-to expert for anything pertaining to Facebook. You can learn a ton from her and use her tips to help your business grow.
Twitter – This is another great social networking site. Warren Whitlock is a master at using Twitter.com. He’s actually coming out with a Twitter book, I think it’s called Twittling Journal or something like that. But if you want to understand how Twitter.com works, Warren Whitlock would probably be the best person to learn from. But if you want to find out more about Twitter, simply go to Twitter.com and sign up. You can actually follow me on Twitter to really understand how it all works. You’ll see exactly what I’m doing. But you also want to follow Warren Whitlock. You will actually find him – he’s following me and I’m following him. He’s always talking a lot so you’ll be able to see him arise online. And mine, if you want to go there, just so you can check out what I’m doing on the social networking side, go to www.Twitter.com/MattBacak. That is my Twitter site. You can see exactly what I’m doing. This will definitely help you understand how it all works.
And you can’t forget Squidoo. This is another great social networking site. Who is the expert here? I think I personally would say Tiffany Dow. Check out her information and follow her Squidoo lenses to see how she does it and how she’s the master of her craft. You can learn a ton from her on how to use Squidoo to broaden your business and improve your websites traffic.
In all, social networking is not crucial but if you have the time, you should consider investing some spending some energy in setting up accounts with the above social networking sites in order to help get the word out about your business and what it is that you have to offer.
