1. Take a deep breath and take it easy
Speaking with confidence is not going to be an easy ride, but you can make it. Before going up the stage, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Count to 5 (One one-thousand, two one-thousand…) and slowly exhale. This will help you to clear your mind and prevent your mind from panicking. Make sure you are well-dressed before going up the stage. Be proud of yourself when you are going up on stage. Greet your audience and don’t mumble. rnWhen on stage, take it easy. Present your speech like you are talking to your long-lost friends. However, try not to use and informal phrases frequently, it might bring discomfort to your audience.

2. Target a friendly face
If you feel that you are still having stage fright, your legs are trembling and hands are shaking you wouldn’t be speaking with confidence. Try to look for a friendly face. Target them, but make sure you are not distracted by them. This will ease your phobia and carry on with your speech. Also, it will add confidence when you’re speaking. You have to remember, by targeting friendly face, you have to make eye contact with the rest of the audience as well. rnAlways maintain a smile on your face no matter what. Your audience will probably smile back at you. You will feel better, so do your audience.

3. Be excited about your topic
When you are on the stage, start off your speech with an enthusiastic tone. Speaking with confidence means making your speech sound exciting, and eventually you will feel excitement yourself. Emphasize on the main points and make sure your tone is being projected evenly throughout the whole hall. If you aren’t excited about your topic, no one else will. You are the energy that your audience will be holding. With the enthusiasm, your audience will definitely give back the same energy to you. rnYour hand gesture and your posture will give your audience a good impression too. Also, it will boost up your confidence level. But remember, when you are not using your hands, put them beside your body. Never misuse your gesture, it might turn out ugly.rnSpeaking with confidence is a life skill that requires learning and practice. I hope these tips do assist you and in some way arouse your interest in furthering your learning. Promise to upgrade yourself right now.
Good luck,
MJ
