Before Our Sri Lanka Beach Tour Lets Explore The Inland Of Sri Lanka
This tiny Indian ocean island famous for Sri Lanka beaches and that is the major reason most travelers tour Sri Lanka. But this island has more than beaches there are national parks, ancient capitals and beautiful mountains. Because of this reason we start our tour Sri Lanka in Sigiriya.
This famous rock fortress is home to Sigiri paintings, thousand year old poems, water fountains in the top still working in the rainy season and famous Lion carvings. One of the most famous tourist sites in Sri Lanka and one of the eight UNESCO world heritages in the country.
After Sigiriya rock hike We traveled to Highlands in the island using Mathale road. And we hop in a train from Hatton. Because this train ride one of the most scenic ones in the world. And we almost filled our cameras with train ride only. It's was such a beautiful experience. We spend two nights in Ella and while in there we climb little Adam's peak, visit Ella rock, Rawana Ella Waterfall and saw the beautiful nine arch Bridge. Ella is the best mountain town in our opinion.
Visiting Mirissa As Our First Beach In The Island
After two great days in highlands we left mountains and reached to deep south using Ella -Wellawaya road. We start our much awaited Sri Lanka beach tour from Mirissa beach.Mirissa is one of the most beautiful beach in the island. We spend two nights there because there lot of thing to do in Mirissa. Mirissa is famous for whale watching and we did see some amazing whales in our time in Mirssa. A perfect start for our Sri Lanka beach tour. And we also did some diving while we are in Mirissa beach.
When planning Beach Holidays to Sri Lanka, Galle is our major beach city. Because it's home to Galle Dutch fort, another UNESCO heritage in this island. And also From Galle you can get a clear idea that Sri Lanka is a multi ethnic country. We did a tour in Galle city and colonial fort and enjoyed it very much. Hikkaduwa is a beach near to Galle city and another beautiful beach in the island. Hikkaduwa is a must when you are planning Beach Holidays to Sri Lanka. Because it has vibrant beach culture. In there you can participated almost all the beach activities like surfing, diving, kite surfing and also it's famous for beach parties. That's why Hikkaduwa is must visit beach in Sri Lanka beaches.
After spend one night in Hikkaduwa we travel back to Colombo. As for our last day we did a little tour in Colombo including historic sites, vibrant Pettah and Galle face green. Galle face green is another famous beach in the island. From this short tour in the island we can say this island is a perfect beach tour location and there lot of things to do except beaches. So it have something for everyone, a must visit in Asia.
